I am Accepting, Straight Forward, and Unusual.

My Self-Summary

Hello there, I'm a smart guy with a dark sense of humor, eclectic tastes, intellectual interests, and athletic inclinations.

However, I'm not looking for a relationship. In fact, I'm already in a long term monogamous relationship. Although I say that here, I continue to get high marks from people, so I might as well make this current.

Again, I'm not available for dating.

What I’m doing with my life

I'm going to school full time and I'm almost done with my AS in Computer Science. I'll transfer to a Bachelor's program by the end of 2010.

I'm at school because I disability has kept me from working for about 6 years. I'm back on metaphorical feet these days, although I'm still wobbly, things look very good. That unleashes my potential, and I'm developing various business, creating and social projects with an eye toward supporting myself and improving the world.

I’m really good at

Imagination, technology, taking different perspectives, self control, thinking, observing, creating, ideas.

The first things people usually notice about me

Written around 2005: I'd never asked before so I decided to find out. Here's what some people said:

Woman I met in 2004 - "I believe the first thing that crossed my mind was, 'So that's the Nick person they've been talking about...'"

Woman I met in 2003 - "You project an image of being interested in what other people are doing and thinking... it's very strong, and I think it helps people want to get to know you. You're also cleancut and well groomed (very important) ... and not at all hard on the eye, and a pretty snappy dresser, so the overall image is pretty much smart."

Woman I met around 1998 - "I thought you were very confident, which was impressive. But a great big dork."

Guy I met around 2000 - "You definately have a serious look on your face by default. Not mean or angry, just serious. Like you are giving whatever you are sensing your utmost, serious attention."

Woman I met around 2000 - "well, if memory serves, the first thing that I noticed was your voice ... physically? I think I noticed how straight you carry yourself"

Man I met in 2000 - "I'd have to say how attentive you are. You carry yourself with a very alert air."

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

Recently I've been watching West Wing, Dollhouse and the Sara Connor Chronicles. I've added songs from Keller Williams, the namesake from Gummibar, and quite a bit of random stuff from Pandora.com.

Written around 2007: In general I love an eclectic variety of things. I'm drawn to things, particularly food, if they're different than my past experience. In books I tend towards Fantasy and Sci-Fi. Some of the ones that stand out in my head are: The Black Company, Shannara, The Gunslinger, Starship Troopers, Hyperion, Wizard's First Rule, Blood Sucking Fiends, and a few top notch Sci Fi books that I can't recall by name.

I enjoy quite an eclectic mix of movies, everything from Spell-Bound (An independent documentary about spelling bees, of all things) to Sin City, Mirror Mask, Zero Effect, As Good as it Gets, Good Will Hunting, Iron Man, Love Actually, Before Sunset, Princess Moninoke (sp), etc.

Mirrormask, Sin City, As Good as it Gets, Knight's Tale, Zero Effect, Punch Drunk Love, Love Actually, The Perfect Husband... Wizard's First Rule, The Black Company, The Gunslinger, Glory Lane, Hyperion... Dave Matthews, Victor Wooten, Ally Bain, Kinky, Bare Naked Ladies, Dave Matthews, Disturbed, Nickleback, OK GO...

The six things I could never do without

I think the question is pretty melodramatic. My favorite things? Companionship, snuggling, laughing, the smiles and laughter of others, talking with intellectual equals, things to explore.

I spend a lot of time thinking about

I'm always thinking. Projects and how to finish them without compromising on anything. People, myself, details, absurdity, blue sky, that perfect solution. Yeah, I said that twice.

On a typical Friday night I am

Maybe playing games, researching some new concept or technology, listening to music, watching videos, working on a project, talking, laughing, relaxing, thinking, poking fun...

The most private thing I’m willing to admit here

If it's true, I don't mind telling you. For example, I mentioned my disability above. What do you want to know?

You should message me if

You're smart, kind, honest, maybe a little odd, a little dark, a little athletic but good at relaxing, interested in a wide variety of things, and willing to meet before too long to share cocoa, laughs, smiles, eyes and body language.

You also understand that I'm not open to a romantic connection.
