I am easily amused, totally rad, and extremely pale.

My Self-Summary

Well, first of all, I'm kindof a dork. You should be aware of this.

I *was* an english major with a focus in creative writing, but I've given that up in favor of something more useful for real life (sadly!) Going for a mechanical engineering degree as we speak.

Other random stuff: I have a pretty broad musical taste (from classic rock to metal to classical to rap,) I love cats, Picard was the better captain, my favorite word is "extraordinarily," and I have a mancrush on Carl Sagan.

Space is also a pretty huge obsession of mine; final frontier, boldly go, etc. For this reason I find things like Deep Field and Pale Blue Dot to be extraordinarily moving. If you get to know me, be warned - I will wax on about this at some point.

What I’m doing with my life

Right now, just going to college basically.

Also I hope to write a book (maybe two) someday.

But my ultimate goal? Space. I'm gonna be an astronaut. Pierce the heavens!

I’m really good at

I kick ass at Video games.

And writing (at least when the muse strikes.)

Not so good at waking up though.

The first things people usually notice about me

I'm kinda skinny. I swear I eat, it just doesn't show. I'm like "hey, I'm gonna eat 30 pounds of Doritos today" and my body is like "lol ok enjoy remaining underweight." Yay metabolism.

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

Oh lawd, this list is long. I do love to read <3

Books: Fantasy and sci-fi. A Song of Ice and Fire and The Chronicles of Amber are probably my absolute favorites. Things that go without saying: Tolkien, Arthur C. Clarke, Isaac Asimov, and honestly lots more. Asking an (ex-)english major to list his favorite books is asking for trouble. One thing, though: if you're a Randroid, you're not welcome here. Shoo.

Oh, and on top of that, I've recently discovered a love for comics and graphic novels (no, not because of Watchmen, I swear.)

Movies: I'm not really big on movies, but a few that stick out to me are Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, Failsafe, and Serenity. Honorable mention goes to 2001: A Space Odyssey, The Blues Brothers, and Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure.

TV: Scrubs, House, Firefly, Star Trek (minus Enterprise,) Megas XLR, Monster Quest (any show like this really, you know the type,) The Universe, Doctor Who, and Eureka.

Music: All kinds of crazy stuff. My dad raised me on old white man music, so I have a soft spot for bands like Led Zepplin, AC/DC, the Allman Brothers Band, Steely Dan, Dire Straits, all kinds of stuff like that. But by myself I've stumbled into the wide, wide, wonderful world of metal and I cannot get enough of it. Guitar solos are probably my favorite thing in the universe. And on top of all that I've got a secret love for Scandinavian folk metal (Finntroll, I'm looking at you.)

Food: I'm not really big on food (a fact that will quickly become evident should we ever meet) but I do enjoy bread of all kinds. Also a huge fan of cheese, and, of course, the ultimate final form of the above two: pizza.

The six things I could never do without

I spend a lot of time thinking about

Ways of avoiding cliches. In writing, in life, in everything. How can you oppose mainstream thought without becoming part of the counterculture? Can you? Should you?

I spend a decent amount of time trying to improve my writing style. I'm always worried that when I start writing it's going to end up being some generic fantasy rehash that nobody wants to read.

Also, how to make myself fall asleep earlier. The morning is a lovely time to be awake but I'd prefer to watch the sunrise over breakfast instead of dinner~

On a typical Friday night I am

Playing some games at home. Maybe reading a book or cruising the internet. I do go out when I get the chance, though this doesn't happen as often as I'd like. Brighton = boring!

The most private thing I’m willing to admit here

My cat is my best friend <3 His name is Loafie because he is the color and shape of bread.

You should message me if

... nothing here frightens you too much! I really like meeting new people, so even if you just feel like you could endure being around me, drop me a line~ Eccentricity is extremely high on my list of "DO WANT" so if you think you're wierd or different or exciting, I would love to talk to you.

Also, this is very important: I have a huge thing for wizards. Someday I plan to live in a tower full of books and exotic odds-and-ends. I will have a pointed hat covered in stars and I will know everything about mushroom rings. If you are a witch or a wizard or know where I could find some, SPEAK UP.
