My self-summary
New rule: if you want an answer, you need to put more than "hi" in your message.

C'mon, fellas. Charm me.

Self-summary? Picky about books, food, live sports events, and the use of the English language.

More? I'm a New England native, transplanted to Philly and back again. I own more books than I have shelves for, and am on a crusade to collect every Disney movie made. I am a trained ballroom dancer, an amateur singer, and a ruthless editor.
What I’m doing with my life
I write a lot.

(A lot.

Like....a LOT.)

Screenplays, YA novels, comic books, short stories. I play music, mainly with family members. I get deeply involved with the few TV shows I watch, to an absolutely embarrassing extent, and bore anyone who will listen with breakdowns of episodic and seasonal structure, because that is the kind of thing that other people like to listen to, right?

Right?

I read about as much as I write. I've recently started Muay Thai, jiujitsu, and boxing classes.
I’m really good at
Baking, writing, arguments. I'm less good at guitar, but I make up for it with enthusiasm; I'm excellent at analyzing poetry. I make a mean enchilada, and I'm getting pretty good at spin kicks and choke holds.
The first things people usually notice about me
If they know my mom, they mostly say: "Wow! You look just like your mom!"

Aside from that, I haven't really done any surveys.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food

Books: Good Omens, Skinny Legs and All, Lord of the Rings, A Wrinkle in Time, All Creatures Great and Small, Daniel Deronda, Persuasion, David Copperfield, Leviathan Wakes.

Breaking it down by writers, we've got: Gail Simone, Rainbow Rowell, Hemingway, Fitzgerald, Tom Robbins, Madeleine L'Engle, Brian Michael Bendis, Jo Rowling, James Herriot, James S.A. Corey.

The six things I could never do without
My family.
My library.
My computer.
My guitar.
My sense of self.
Time to daydream.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
My current job situation; story outlines, characters, and plots; the state of the world (desperate as usual).

(If you know what book I just referenced, message me immediately, because we may well be soulmates.)
On a typical Friday night I am
Usually in, watching a movie or reading a book. I've turned into kind of a homebody. Not on purpose; I just don't know a lot of people in the area.
I’m looking for
  • Guys who like girls
  • Ages 27–35
  • Near me
  • Who are single
  • For new friends, long-term dating, short-term dating
You should message me if
You find me interesting. Or you just want to say hi. Or you like guitars, or fairy tales, or you have a thing for slightly awkward but enthusiastic English majors.

Caveat: I don't like netspeak, poor grammar, sentence fragments, or attempts at bribing me into an answer by way of flattery. Be warned.
