My self-summary
Hey there, my name's Keith and I'm a transplant who's working on his PhD at the UofA (4+ more years, Yah!). I moved from Ohio a few months back and am still getting acclimated to the desert lifestyle. Sometimes I miss the rain... I grew up in a little town surrounded by corn and soybean, attended a tiny liberal arts university, studied philosophy and political science. Now my life is lots of math, lots of econ, more math....

I'm looking to date a gal who enjoys the outdoors and being active, but who also can be a nerd about things. Knowledge and learning are important to me and I find intelligence to be the most character trait.

If I were to describe myself, I'd say that I'm fairly energetic, active and somewhat excitable. I enjoy talking with people who can nerd it up and learning new things (especially sciencey or mathematical things.) I also love swimming and try to go to the pool as often as I can, though recently I've been running a bunch. Other hobbies include kayaking, hiking, cooking/baking and amateur astronomy.
What I’m doing with my life
Math -> PHD Program -> Profit???

That and trying to make the world a marginally better place. I used to be an avid volunteer back when free time was a thing. I hope to get back into it after comps are over.
I’m really good at
Talking fast, understanding/being knowledgeable of current events, being ignorant of most sports things, being semi-productive, screwing people over in board games, making typos, making terrible puns...

That, and I apparently make a mean chilli.
The first things people usually notice about me
My perpetually thinning hair line or that I am "petite" for a man.

Though, my friend's wife once mentioned my eyelashes...
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Tooooo many of these to list, gonna keep it short.

Republic, Theory of the Leisure Class, Name of the Rose, Dr. McNinja, Dune

Star Trek II-IV, Hot Fuzz, Die Hard III, The Fifth Element, Blade Runner, Demolition Man (worst dystopia ever), Lego Movie (I like children's movies in general, because apparently I'm an adult)

Mad Men, Breaking Bad, Adventure Time, Venture Brothers, Archer

<3 Queen, Iron Maiden, Flogging Molly
The six things I could never do without
Mr. Coffee
Coffee Filters
Coffee Grinder
Coffee Beans
Brita Water Filter
Coffee My Hero Coffee Mug
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Health Statistics, stupid algebra errors, food...
On a typical Friday night I am
Crashing after a whole week's worth of work, drinking a beer with classmates, cleaning massive piles of dishes, doing some grading and studying... You know, because I'm cool like that.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I get easily distracted by hummingbirds. It makes bicycling dangerous.

Oh, and stress this year finally did my hairline in.

You should message me if
You've ever had a math induced nightmare, like being outdoors, or enjoy taking to people who tend to be a tad intellectual. I try to surround myself with smart people and am looking to know a sharp gal.
