My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
A simple succinct summary: I'm fit, fast and funny. I might also be overly fond of alliteration. I'm a transplant to the area and moved out to AZ for grad school. My roots are back in the Midwest, but over the past few years I've really come to love the desert lifestyle. And heat is better than humidity any day. Plus I get to see quail and other desert critters on a regular basis, which is always a plus (well maybe not that mountain lion, that was terrifying.)

Since I am a perpetual student (PhD), it's safe to say that I'm a big nerd. I know a bunch about math, statistics and agriculture, but that's work related minutia. Movies and science fiction are what really grab my attention. Sometimes I make obscure film references during conversations and get overly excited when people notice. I also devote a large portion of my free time to being active. Big plus if you are into running. Hiking, trail running, biking and kayaking are other outdoorsy interests of mine.

When I am not running, coding or sleeping, I like to spend free my time reading, cooking, spotting hummingbirds, and playing trivia.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Working on my PhD, getting data, binge eating and procrastinating on RA research.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Running. I gots medals. Looking to get a few more and some race mugs.

I guess I'm also fairly good at making people laugh. My jokes tend to involve hyperbole.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food

I like to read classical literature, science fiction and web comics of Irish ninja doctors when I have time. Currently, I am working my way back through the Dune series.

Big Star Trek nerd when it comes to movies and TV. I also have a man crush on Bruce Willis and thoroughly enjoy animated children's movies. Some favs: Blade Runner, The Fifth Element, Dune, Lego Movie, Hot Fuzz

Adult Swim, BBC, AMC are my go to's for TV shows.

My music preferences revolve around classic rock. NPR, Queen, Iron Maiden, Flogging Molly, Rush, Alice Cooper's radio show... to name a few things I regularly listen to. I also listen to NPR Jazz every night.

Food in general is great. I'm a huge fan of brunch.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
Coffee Grinder
Mr. Coffee
Running Shoes
Brita Water Filter
Twin Sister
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Ionizing radiation, stupid algebra errors, endogeneity, communicable diseases, chubby quail, glorious carbs...
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Playing board games with friends or cuddling in bed and reading research papers. I like to live life on the wild side.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I still feel occasional guilt over killing a tadpole back in first grade. Amphibians have it hard ya know.

You've ever had a math induced nightmare, think quail are awesome, like being outdoors, or enjoy talking to people who tend to be a tad nerdy. I would like to find a woman who can relate to my energy, quirky humor, and love of the outdoors.
