My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I love smart people. I enjoy thoughtful exchanges about a huge variety of topics. I enjoy people that aren't just focused on one or two topics but are open and interested in learning about lots of things. That can ask smart questions not because they know about the topic but because they can think.

I'm not a person that is looking at slowing down. I'm active and want keep learning, exploring, accomplishing. I enjoy learning about new things and am passionate about living life.

I'm sex positive. That doesn't mean I'm looking to just have sex or to have sex all of the time. It does mean that I'm not afraid to talk about sex and sexuality. It also means I think it is a good thing to acknowledge sexuality and sexual energy. I think at heart we are all sexual creatures and it is a societal creation that we somehow think it is wrong to acknowledge or discuss that.

A related note - in my profession I work a lot with the issues of alternative sexuality and kink. Things like polyamory, BDSM and power dynamic relationships. So if even thinking about that kind of thing makes you want to run, you may have issues with me.

I'm different than many guys in some ways. I am pretty in touch with my emotions, I express them, and I expect that in a partner. I am looking for emotional connection with open communication.

If all of this makes me sound serious and intense, I am in some ways. But I'm not in others. I love to have fun, have a great sense of humor and enjoy being goofy.

I'm not setting out to find a wife, soulmate or "the one." If that happens, great, but I don't think that comes from actively seeking it. I think it is the byproduct of developing relationships. If you enjoy making good friends that enjoy some activities and good conversation, great! If you like to be flirty, even better. Let's have some fun and see where the path leads!

Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I have a private practice in the healthcare field. This is a passion of mine. I have had a couple of previous careers where I was successful but was never passionate about. I decided it was time to be passionate about what I do.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Talking. Listening. Thinking. Being a smart-aleck. Cooking. Teasing. Fixing things.

I always hate favorites questions. I love all kinds of books but probably my favorite is To Kill a Mockingbird. I love the movie, too. I love Dean Koontz, especially the Odd Thomas series. I loved the Time Traveler's Wife, too. I read a lot of work books with odd titles like The Ethical Slut, Mating in Captivity and Sperm Wars.

TV shows - I like well written, smart ones. I've just rewartched Friday Night Lights - an amazingly crafted show with smart, realistic, well developed characters. I love West Wing, Sherlock, Jekyll, Orange is the New Black. Dexter, Hinterland, Californication. Breaking Bad and Weeds, too.

Ted Talks!!! I absolutely love TedTalks and can watch them for hours. Some of my favorites are -

Brene Brown - Vulnerability http://www.ted.com/talks/lang/en/brene_brown_on_vulnerability.html

I love all kinds of foods - Mexican, Thai, Indian, pizza, brats and burgers. I love seafood! So many good restaurants. Graze, Nostrano, Los Gemelos, Crema Cafe, Merchant, Brasserie V. I know I'm missing tons.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
Having my brain stimulated. Coffee. Intuition. Books. Sex. Emotions.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Interpersonal dynamics and what makes people tick. I love watching interactions between family, friends and even strangers and trying to understand behavior. It fascinates me.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
I'm not sure what typical is! My Fridays vary widely. It might be staying in and relaxing, preparing for the weekend. It can be going out with friends for dinner or drinks. Maybe if you read this it will be going on a date with you!
The most private thing I’m willing to admit

I'm a lot less "traditional" than my appearance would suggest. I have sides of me that only those close to me know about and most would never guess.
