My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I thought it was time for a re-write, so here goes.

It seems that my being a therapist scares off some people. I do know that past people I've dated have at times hurled the phrase, "blanking therapist" at me as an insult! That's usually because I was trying to get them to talk more or discuss their feelings, lol. Despite that I am really a pretty nice guy!

The other thing that can send some people running is the one of the areas of focus is alternative sexuality and alternative relationships. I'm sex-positive and work with people to be comfortable with the sexual preferences and desires. I'm not a therapist that tries to "cure" people around these issues.

I get it. Some people think BDSM, power dynamic relationships and non-monogamy are bad or evil. Others think sex and related issues shouldn't be openly talked about. If you fall into one of those groups than I'm really not the right guy for you. However, if you are okay with the idea of letting everyone make choices for themselves and don't mind open conversation about sex and sexuality, we might be a great match.

I don't put that out there because I'm only interested in sex or I'm only looking for sex on here. I do it because it has become easier to get those our up front instead of thinking there is a start of a connection only to find out someone wants to flee when they find out about that part of my work.

Beyond that I'm just me. I have lots of interests, value good friends and would love to have a partner in my life.

I love smart people that enjoy learning and growing. People that are curious about new things, even if it isn't a specific interest of yours. I enjoy people that are adventurous.

I'm a huge fan of TedTalks. Some of my favorites are:

Brene Brown on Vulnerability and Shame

Simon Simonek on How Great Leaders Inspire

Poet Rives on 4am

I'm not all serious cat. I like to laugh and have fun. I can be silly. I am very affectionate and love doing the simple things together as much as the more exciting activities. I have a lot of sides to me...and I think that is a good thing.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I have a private practice in the healthcare field. This is a passion of mine. I have had a couple of previous careers where I was successful but was never passionate about. I decided it was time to be passionate about what I do.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Talking. Listening. Thinking. Being a smart-aleck. Cooking. Teasing. Fixing things.

I really don't know about this one...my freckles?

I always hate favorites questions. I love all kinds of books but probably my favorite is To Kill a Mockingbird. I love the movie, too. I love Dean Koontz, especially the Odd Thomas series. I loved the Time Traveler's Wife, too. I read a lot of work books with odd titles like The Ethical Slut, Mating in Captivity and Sperm Wars.

TV shows - I like well written, smart ones. I've just rewartched Friday Night Lights - an amazingly crafted show with smart, realistic, well developed characters. I love West Wing, Sherlock, Jekyll, Orange is the New Black. Dexter, Hinterland, Californication. Breaking Bad and Weeds, too.

Ted Talks!!! I absolutely love TedTalks and can watch them for hours. Some of my favorites are -

The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
Having my brain stimulated. Coffee. Intuition. Books. Sex. Emotions.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Interpersonal dynamics and what makes people tick. I love watching interactions between family, friends and even strangers and trying to understand behavior. It fascinates me.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
I'm not sure what typical is! My Fridays vary widely. It might be staying in and relaxing, preparing for the weekend. It can be going out with friends for dinner or drinks. Maybe if you read this it will be going on a date with you!
The most private thing I’m willing to admit

I'm a lot less "traditional" than my appearance would suggest. I have sides of me that only those close to me know about and most would never guess.
