My self-summary
I am an artist and teacher who recently moved back to Portland from the Bay Area. It is an interesting process to uproot and regroup and it has not always been easy. But I am up for the challenge because it has shaken loose any cobwebs and I feel fully alive.
What I’m doing with my life
Portland has been an adventurous, growth spurt. I am having time to develop my new interests and finding out what they are along the way. Since moving here in July 2012 I have been working in the schools as an art teacher with elementary, middle school students and adults with disabilities. I have co-created an arts collective of artists and writers with a social justice bent. We are producing our second show at Milepost 5 Gallery in June 2014.

I see Portland as an opportunity to find my best self. I am working on it.
I’m really good at
Creating something out of nothing, bringing people together, teaching art. I have taught art in elementary schools for the last 20 years. I am good at integrating math, science, and language arts into the lesson, enabling right brain learners a chance to grasp the concept. I am good at finding the spark in a kid.

I am good at entertaining myself. I like to sing, dance, write poems, take hikes, go to museums, do art. I am never bored.
