My self-summary
To whom it may concern,

The man you're about to read about is either someone who would make a great friend that you might share many fun times with but have no romantic inclinations to, possibly he is a complete mismatch that shares none of the things you require for a functioning relationship and spending time with him is rather like nails on a chalkboard, or there is a ever so slightly sliver of a chance that he is love of your life that will compliment your life and enrich your time on earth. The odds are he is the first aforementioned situation but alas those are the odds of life.

Who is this man? This person who lays bits of his life, dislikes, likes, and whatnot on the internet dating pool and to what end?

These questions and many more are about to answered in the following “profile” on the man we simply call “Nick.” Mainly we call him that because that is in fact, his real name.

When not creating a profile to attract a potential mate for life, Nick enjoys many things, gizmos, and natural world around him. He enjoys games of trivia that tax his mental capacity. Obscure trivia and cleverness make him ideally suited for games such as Clue, Balderdash, and pub night games out at the local watering hole. Although not the funniest man alive, his skills dually parlay to other such games as Cards Against Humanity, Racko, and of course strip Trivial Pursuit.

Sports are another strong suit of Nick’s. He enjoys sports so long as it's baseball - and in limited quantity. While he does keep fit by riding a stationary bike an hour a day 5 days a week he does so mainly to balance his sedentary life behind a desk.

His skills are equally impressive in wide open spaces of nature. He enjoys camping as long as he feels the security of an automobile within walking distance. The prospect of escape out of harm’s way and a dry oasis make his decision both practical and forward thinking.

Books plus the action of reading and collecting them excite Nick. Those who do not read or enjoy books may take one solidarity “fuck off” as the great writer Mark Twain would say had he the balls or the fortitude to be alive now.

Art is one of Nick’s greatest passions. His love of art encompasses the natural world as well as the manmade. To not enjoy some aspect of the arts is to live without living, to eat and not be full, to fornicate and not…well you get my point. To this end if you don’t appreciate or enjoy art please stop reading…..now.
What I’m doing with my life
Nick enjoys the life of a sales man. His primary function is to sell needed computer hardware, software, and solution based on site support. Having survived many cut backs in staff and support he has risen to the top 15% of the sales force for a billion dollar plus company. His degree in art has served him well in this endeavor as one might expect from a man in business.

Life is more than work though and he keeps his nights active with friends, photography, and watching an excessive amount of visual information via Netflix and Hulu.
I’m really good at
What is Nick not good at? Well, truth be told, most things. The things he does have a firm grasp on are Tetris, Ms Pacman, listening skills, baking, selecting the correct beverage for each meal that isn’t breakfast (scotch), plus having the understanding, nurturing, compromising, and forgiving nature that is required in all friendships and relationships.
The first things people usually notice about me
One of the first things you might notice about Nick is his lack of outstanding features. 6 foot tall of pale complexion, 170 pounds, and sprouting a small clean crop of dark brown hair with hints of gray on the sides; he is the embodiment of the average male of German descent in the throes of Milwaukee. His stunning blue eyes and wide smile may shine above others, or so he has been told.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Nick’s love of books covers a wide gamut of topics. Nonfiction, Science fiction, books on art, basically anything that hits his fancy. He loves books by the publisher Taschen.

Music is soul of the heart. Or perhaps its music is the heart of the soul. Whatever the case may be Nick enjoys it immensely. From A-track to LCD Sound System, to the Talking Heads and Yelle, from classical to mid century French music, to Bonde De Role to Django Reinhardt, from MIA to Gling Glow. Yes, he sure enjoys music. That is unless you count Modern County which is abysmal.

Movies. Ah, the movies. He will sit through most anything but his favorites are the ones with plot and sound. The Nightmare before Christmas is one such movie. Wes Anderson is a demigod.

TV. Ah, the TV. Anything BBC peaks an interest as well as anything that doesn’t cause a low of brain matter. Arrested Development and Peep Show are two such examples.

Food is the soul of the heart. Or perhaps its food is the heart of the soul. Palomino, Comet, Centraal, Red Dot, Bacchus, and County Clare are amongst his favorites. Foods that do or may contain nuts are not as they will surley kill him without mercy. Death to all nuts.

I spend a lot of time thinking about
Nick spends a lot of time thinking of past regrets, current events, and future possibilities. The very things that, in this authors opinion most people think about.
On a typical Friday night I am
Nick spends his weekends like his money; at home entertaining himself, out with friends, on dates meeting new people, working on the house, or held up in a 401k.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I don’t speak in the third person. I am just trying to meet someone new who has a sense of humor. I haven’t been on a bad date in years because I can always find something interesting with the women I choose to hang out with. We might not hit it off but the conversations are always good and that is always a good start.
