I am deep thinker/feeler, witty, and consciously creative.

My Self-Summary

"Feel the fear and do it anyway" is a mantra I've rocked from early on. This philosophy has lead me over the years to become a radio DJ, climb the pyramids of Teotihuacan, Mexico, act in an independent film, and purchase a home all on my own. But by far, the greatest adventure has been within. :)

I am an artist who is breaking out of her 9-5 social-service existence. A big part of my life are my spiritual beliefs...from meditation to the law of attraction...I am blossoming into my more authentic self. People usually can't guess that my ethnicity is 1/2 Italian and 1/2 Irish (what I affectionately refer to as a working class mutt). (Some people think I look Indian, asian or latin.) This means I am genetically predisposed to vendettas and bar room brawls, so a spiritual path was simply a necessity. I love music and spent a lot of years as a punk rocker so my favorite band is and will always be The Clash. My taste has expanded greatly and now I love old motown,60's girl groups, neo soul, socially conscious hip hop (Common, etc.), and have recently fallen head over heels for Snow Patrol. As a full figured woman, people are usually very surprised to see that I am a fabulous dancer with great rhythm. Expect a lot of surprises with me on every level.

What I’m doing with my life

Working hard helping people at a non-profit (I'm fortunate to actually be able to make a difference) while also starting a marketing company of my own. Also, I'm going to be acting in a local production of "The Vagina Monologues". No, this doesn't mean I'm a man-hater...in fact, I love men in very much an "old school" kinda way. I actually wish the play exemplified healing instead of glorifying victimization, but the cast is amazing and it's for a great cause. Plus, I got to send my parents a flyer referring to me as a "Vagina Warrior"...seriously, so worth all the rehearsals and memorization. My father's response, (heavy sigh) "Your mother will be so proud." LOL

I’m really good at

cooking, sculpting, writing (poetry and prose), creating, laughing, chop-busting, photography (as long as it's not self portraits...I can never seem to get the right angle) and loving. Oh, and desk top publishing. And conversing. Or being silent.

The first things people usually notice about me

my voice...it's low and sorta sultry...people always think I should do voice overs...and my smile.

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

Books: The Outsiders, Radical Forgiveness, The Dynamic Laws of Prosperity, The Dark Side of the Light Chasers. Many, many more.

Movies: A History of Violence, American Beauty, American Movie, Antonia’s Line, Blues Brothers, BROKEN ENGLISH, Butterfly Effect, Charlotte Sometimes, Children of Men, Donnie Darko, Hard Boiled, In the Cut, Kill Bill Volume 2, Kiss Kiss Bang Bang, Lake Placid, Lie With Me, Living In Oblivion, Love Actually, Me Without You, Pulp Fiction, Run Lola Run, Secretary ***, Shop Girl, Sixteen Candles, Sliding Doors, Stranger Than Fiction, Sucker Free City, 10 Items or Less, The Big Lebowski, The Cooler, The Holiday, The Piano, The Red Violin, The Secret, The Weight of Water, Twenty-Fifth Hour, West Side Story, What the Bleep Do We Know?, Wicker Park, Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory, WONDER BOYS. Yes, I am an unapologetic MOVIE WHORE. I'm also the kinda person who likes to talk about the movie after I see it. The conversation can vary from the critiquing of story lines and believability to what the overall themes say about the evolution of society. Depends on where I'm at in the moment.

Music: The Clash, Elvis Costello, Incubus, Better Than Ezra, Common, Snow Patrol, Joan Jett and the Blackhearts, Garbage, Blondie, Patti Smith, Prince, Public Enemy, Kayne West, The Police, Marvin Gaye, Donny Hathaway, The Specials,...this could go on forever.

Food: Thai, Chinese, Indian, Japanese, Greek, Mexican, Middle Eastern, and organic/grass-fed/whole foods. I cook much more than I eat out. As a former vegetarian who has since seen the light, I am unapologetic about high quality meat. Let's BBQ!

The six things I could never do without

big love (no, not the TV show, although I do dig it), a pet (or 2), shu mai, pen/paper, burgundy lipstick, and storytelling.

I spend a lot of time thinking about

what I appreciate about life now and what I want to experience in the future.

On a typical Friday night I am

How to answer this? I am beyond wanting to impress others with my weekend plans. Fridays are usually about unwinding from the week so sometimes there are dinners with friends or simply long soaks in the tub. Oh, and I've found that a 5 o'clock show of a movie is the perfect way to get out of "work head".

The most private thing I’m willing to admit here

That I briefly worked as a dominatrix? Just for kicks though. I swear! (I was in a performance art phase. And I dug the clothes. Although I liked them more on the hangers than wearing them. So many zippers and buckles!) Please do NOT message me if you think this implies I want to kick you while wearing stilettos and put cigarettes out on your tongue. No judgments...but that's not how I roll.

You should message me if

you feel inspired to do so. You value and embody integrity and are incredibly honest, even when it's difficult. You also love to laugh!
