My self-summary
I'm a bit geeky (not huge geek but I have a geek streak). I'm an artist, photographer and designer working on completing my degree so I have the piece of paper that shows I'm all of the above. I like to travel whenever possible. I'm pretty busy between work and school but I still find time for those who are most important to me.

Overall, I love my life, am happy with where things are and hope that someday I can share that happiness with someone who can appreciate my flights of fancy, randomness, love for the obscure, and enjoys the simple pleasures that this vast world has to offer.

What I’m doing with my life
The thing I'm most excited about is planning a 14 day trip to Ireland, England and Scotland. This trip has been a dream of mine since I was a wee lass. I'm finally getting to see where all my crazy family members came from originally. But when I'm not looking at maps and tour guides I'm also finishing my bachelor's degree in Graphic Design and working for one of the local colleges.

When not working or doing school related activities, I read, occasionally write poetry, adventure of into the wilderness to go camping, sit around bonfires with friends, visit family, cheer on the Steelers, Penguins, and OSU and a myriad of other fun activities.

I’m really good at
I'm a good listener, a supportive friend, creative artist and a fairly good cook. I am extremely good at getting lost in a daydream and equally good at helping to get people "unlost" with or without the use of a map or GPS. Possessing a good sense of direction is a blessing when you enjoy traveling into parts unknown.

I'm also apparently good at being a klutz and performing my own stunts. You can't truly appreciate how true this one is unless you know how many bones I've managed to break doing things like walking and chewing gum at the same time.

The first things people usually notice about me
Never really asked, but I do get a lot of comments on my eyes so that would be my best guess. After you talk to me for a bit, the next "sort of" compliment is normally along the lines of "Oh, wow, you are smart!?" I suspect that the shock in their voice is because they aren't used to blonds that have a brain.

Others tend to notice that at least initially I'm quiet and appear to be shy. Those who have known me for a while even casually, will tell you not to buy into that notion at all, I'm really just plotting to take over the world.

Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
I have an intense love and appreciation for music. It can be so inspiring and expressive. The style of music really doesn't make much of a difference to me, with the exception of Gangsta Rap of which I'm not a fan. When time permits, I try to get out and see live shows. This year I made it to see Flogging Molly, Kenny Wayne Shepherd, the three day blues festival at Hartwood Acres, Blake Shelton and the Foo Fighters. My play list on my ipod sounds like a schizophrenic made it though and at any given moment you may here Van Morrison followed by Louis Armstrong, followed by Pearl Jam, followed by Joe Bonnemassa, followed by They Might Be Giants and any number of others.

As for reading materials, I prefer suspense novels and comedic books. Occasionally, a good nonfiction or fantasy book will catch my attention. Some of my favorites include, anything by John Sanford, Edgar Allen Poe, and Anne Rice, Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy (have towel will travel), and a hodgepodge of poetry.

For movies, I like Comedies, Suspense, Action Adventure, Romantic Comedies, and the occasional documentary. Some horror movies are alright but mostly they rank at the bottom of the list of things I want to watch. Favorites here would include Anything by Jim Hensen (Dark Crystal is truly the best), Most of Mel Brooks and Monty Python's movies, Anything Kevin Smith had a hand in, Se7en, a lot of the 80s movies and Serendipity.

I don't watch much on TV, mainly due to a lack of time. When I have time, I'll watch things like NCIS, Bones, How I Met Your Mother, Mike & Molly, and The Big Bang Theory. My most recent TV show of choice has been True Blood. I do have a certain fondness for most British Comedies, I mean who doesn't love things like Red Dwarf, The Good Dr., and Mrs. Slocomb's incessant panic attacks about her pussy (Down boys, I'm talking about her cat.)

I love to cook when I have someone to cook for other than just me. I especially like to make home made Greek and Chinese food. What I don't know how to make already, I can find a recipe for.

The six things I could never do without
I'm the simple sort and would typically say air, water, food, shelter, and clothing but in the interest of co-operating, here is my list in no particular order.

1. My Family & Friends (many of whom are more like family to me so I'm counting this as one...it's my list so I can do that, right? lol)

2. Art Supplies (Camera equipment, laptop, 3D modeling software, design software, paints, pencils, brushes, pastels ...if I can make art of any kind with it ..its in this category)

3. Music & something to play it on

4. Books (This would include whatever novels catch my attention as well as travel guides with maps in them)

5. Autumn - The whole season just mystifies me. It is truly beautiful.

6. A backpack (Really, if I'm going to be carrying around all this stuff with me I might need something to put it in, though I'm not sure my sister would be happy about being stuffed in a back pack lol)

I spend a lot of time thinking about
The significance of 42 (Before you ask, No, I didn't forget the 0...it's a Hitchhiker's Guide Reference), why they put braille on drive up cash machines, where did I put my keys, how to fix the global economy and put an end to war, concert schedules, why does the UK have to make it difficult and have me drive on the wrong side of the road, where can I get the best pictures on my trip, How did my keys end up in the freezer? and other perfectly random thoughts.

On a typical Friday night I am
These days, Friday means one of two things. Out for a bite with friends after work or straight home to do homework. I know its exciting isn't it. Whenever, I can I like to take short weekend trips or go camping for the weekend. Sometimes this means I open a map, close my eyes and point to a spot on it and go there, other times it means I've taken the time to plan it out, all just depends on my mood.

The most private thing I’m willing to admit
One of my relatives still insists on calling me a childhood nickname that stems from Mork & Mindy. Bonus points if you can figure out what my dear old Uncle Tom calls me.
