My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
***just an FYI-my profile is a bit out of date as I have only recently been more actively looking on OKC, but I promise I will update it soon!

Hmmmm, where to start...
I’m a transplant to the Northwest from it’s polar opposite, Phoenix, AZ, and have no idea how I ever survived in the oppressive heat of the desert. I came to Seattle 7 years ago for my love of greenery, rain, cloudy days, city life, being near the water, and grad school, and currently have no intention of leaving. I’ve had very little experience with the world of dating here in Seattle, and find myself clueless about how or where to meet a future partner at my age.
I graduated about a year ago with a degree in mental health counseling and art therapy, so I’m a good listener and love meeting new people (and no I don’t spend my free time analyzing people in my personal life and I’m not looking for someone to fix).
I am also an artist and love creating all kinds of things with all sorts of mediums and materials. I’m pretty liberal and passionate about the things I feel strongly about, like the environment, social justice and equality for all, so if you are right-wing conservative it’s best to steer clear for both yours and my own sanity and well being.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I currently work part time in community mental health with mentally ill adults doing art therapy and case management. I also am in the process of helping get an all girls teen center up and running, where I will be the on-site art therapist!
Given the difficulty of doing this type of work I like to spend my free time out doing fun things and getting to know people, and I love a great happy hour. Recently I have been trying to spend more time planning art nights, poker nights, movie nights, well anything to get friends together and have an excuse for drinks and mini potlucks.
The only way to prevent burnout in my chosen profession is to work hard and be passionate, but play hard and respect myself on my time off. So I do like to go out but that doesn’t mean I don’t appreciate staying in, I just prefer to stay in with others who have similar interests and passions.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
listening, putting people at ease, and planning an entire outfit around one item, usually tights...
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
my style and my hair...

So I don't read as much these days as I once did, I think grad school broke my brain, but prior to this occurence some of my favorite authors in the more recent past were: T.C. Boyle, Salman Rushdie, Irvine Welsh, Chuck Palahniuk, Jeanette Winterson; I also use to be really into the whole suspense/mystery/murder/thriller type novels by authors like Tess Gerritson, and Stephen King...
Some of my all time favorite books: Running with Scissors, Pillars of the Earth (total shocker to me), Devil in the White City, Wicked, the Imagica novels, Anil's Ghost, American Psycho...

So I tend to watch most my TV through netflix as I didn't have cable or an antenna for many years and these are the ones that I was always waiting for the next season to be available (some sadly have no more...):
Grey's Anatomy, True Blood, Nurse Jackee, The United States of Tara, The L Word, The Walking Dead, Weeds, Breaking Bad, Project Runway, Vampire Diaries, Mad Men, Glee, Law & Order: SVU, the Big C, Carnivale...
and I just started watching An American Horror Story, and I am totally creeped out by it, but think I might love it?
Oh, I can't forget my all time favorite! Twin Peaks!

I usually can only think of those cult classics like Rocky Horror Picture Show, Clockwork Orange, Heather's, Harold and Maude, Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory, Wizard of Oz... Donnie Darko, The House of Yes, Welcome to the Doll House, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Best in Show, The Evil Dead...
In general I like things on the darker side, film noir, foreign horror films (Dario Argento), drama/suspense/thrillers, old school horror films (Hellraisers, Original Texas Chainsaw), and dark comedies...

I don't tend to listen to much new stuff, I've always kind of sucked at finding out new music and relied on my friends back in the days of mixed tapes and CDs, though Pandora has come in handy in introducing me to some new things now that all my friends are grown up and don't make me CDs :(
I love the 80s! 90s alternative, hair bands, electronica, and yes I do love me some classic rock...
my favorite bands/artists would include: Depeche Mode, Ladytron, She Wants Revenge, the Pixies, Scissor Sisters, Goldfrapp, Peaches, the Faint, Sleater Kinney (old school), The Knife, Erasure, Blondie, Cadallaca, Berlin, Madonna (again old school)...

well I just love food, ethnic food, spicy food, savory food, breakfast food, brunch food, entrees, side dishes, dessert...
and above all else, I love the special Singhalese dishes my mom only makes for the holidays, mmm... cashew pea curry...
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
-my vision
-art making materials (and if I had to narrow it down to just one thing, crayola fine tip markers (including classic and bold colors) or the big assorted pack of sharpies, and probably some paper
-laptop or iphone WITH internet connectivity
-food and water
-a good black hoodie and awesomely hot but comfy boots/shoes

and of course, friends, family, etc...
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
how to make my dreams reality...
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Hitting up happy hour with my 9-5 friends and then possibly out getting drinks after happy hours have ended, or making dinner with friends at home, maybe watching movies, playing games, making art, or maybe going on an OKC date...
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
that's personal...

Sorry guys, I'm really more interested in meeting girls right now, but as I don't like being discriminatory I'm leaving it open to all, just don't be offended if you are male and I don't respond.
Also don't expect a response back if your message is one word, or sentence, I need a reason to want to respond.

That aside, you should message me if...
You are single, female, and looking to meet new people and do fun things.
If you would like to try out a new happy hour, with good small bites and yummy drinks.
You think we have something in common, or maybe don't but would possibly complement each other.
You want to make, share, or see some art.
You want to play texas hold'em.
You feel like helping me plant my new garden ;)
