My self-summary
I am a former graduate student who is about to have her master's degree in Religious Studies. Right now, I am also looking for longterm work. Otherwise, I am working in Disabilities Services as a temporary worker.

I enjoy a multitude of hobbies. Reading, writing, and being engaged in fantasy and science fiction in myriad of ways happens to be one of them. Other hobbies include reading the social sciences in general, mindful and healthy living, dancing, and the occasional social activism. Ever since I was a wee girl, I have also been involved in video games and play-by-post storylines - it is a guilt(less) pleasure for me.

What else do I enjoy? Well, I am one who also enjoys intellectual conversations, making food, and hosting parties for friends, and helping others when I can show the best of myself. Lately, I have been involved with cooking my own food, especially the various ethnic foods. I hope to make tasty food that can somehow strike the balance between economic and avoiding GMOs.

I would also like to think myself also a fan of good, dry sense of humour. I watch British comedy and enjoy things equally humourous. Monty Python and recently, Simon Pegg's films (bar Hot Fuzz) amuse me. Soon I will be flirting with some Black Adder during a nice, cool night.

And then there is more below, but I like to talk about these sort of things in person or on a voice chat of sort. I feel a good chunk of the conversation is lost when it is purely text.

Oh, and if you are wondering. At some point I was a Whovian, Trekkie, and I am trying to believe the Force is with me. <.< I have not caught up on everything in these realms, but they still remain dear to me.
What I’m doing with my life
Trying to get a good, longterm job - for one. Until I get that job, I am going to enjoy the time I have reading books on my bed, catching up on fantasy/sci-fi related video games and films (one at a time), dancing Bharatanatyam, and getting in touch with friends that are both old and new. I enjoy keeping busy, even while occasionally needing a me-day to not engage the world at all.

However, I have many aspirations. One of the aspirations include being able to go overseas again in the next year or two. It is a guilty pleasure of mine to immerse myself in other cultures, expanding my horizons - so to speak. I have a wanderlust that really hates being confined to one place for too long. Another aspiration of mine includes doing some activism work on the side to combat some of the social injustices in the world.
I’m really good at
Being as honest as possible, discussion, keeping myself busy, self-improvement, attention to detail (sometimes to a fault), and doing my best. Some people say I can also be a good speaker and teacher, despite my inclination to be an introvert. Nonetheless, it is important for me to strive toward honesty, respect, reliability, understanding, and accountability. When I am of that age where I start reflecting even more on my life than I do now, I want to be remembered for being good at these things and feel content with where I was, am, and will be.
The first things people usually notice about me
People suggest they notice me being attractive and intelligent. My eyes, nose stud, and smile seem to really catch people's attention. Some have also thrown about the term, "old soul." Others have suggested I can have a dark wit about myself when I am in the mood for mischief and sarcasm.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Many. Many. Many. There are some things that have been catching my interest more than others, though, as of late.

Movies/television shows include Game of Thrones, Avengers and related Marvel films, Christopher Nolan's DC Comics movies, and a few others. I love a multitude of action, comedy, and even some romance. The most important element in a film or series involves the plot and the amount of intrigue and intellectual elements. I do not care about the content if the quality of these traits are outstanding - hence I enjoy Game of Thrones. It has everything, content-wise, but the storyline catches me the most. Person of Interest also attracts me for the same reasons.

When it comes to music, I integrate a number of styles and genres in my MP3 players. New Age, ethnic, classical rock, alternative, symphonic and industrial rock, and so forth are compelling for me. One moment I can be listening to Azam Ali or Niyaz and in the next, I might find myself drawn to Sarah Brightman or Within Temptation. It all depends on what I want to be inspired by. There are even a few individual country songs I enjoy, even while I dislike the genre in general.

I am a shameless foodie. My favourites happen to be Asian cuisine, especially Indian, properly made Chinese and Vietnamese food, and Thai food. When I crave falafel, I will find myself in a Middle Eastern sort of restaurant. Recently, I have been trying to expand my tastes, and will sometimes try to make properly made European foods (especially Italian).

Now I go onto my books... I think I enjoy a number of books, but I especially enjoy Barb and J.C. Hendee's Noble Dead saga and related books. They are amongst the few authors who can write a fantasy/science fiction with vampires who have their own personalities - some even heroic or protagonistic - but are still vampires (in other words, not 'sparkly'). Their lore in the realm their fantasy books take place is also rather interesting. The elves in their setting are also complex and political, versus simply a 'superior, moral race.'
The six things I could never do without
Basic needs (yes, -all- of them), books, the internet, occasional video games, dancing, and my independence.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
This is a rather loaded query, I must admit. To start with, I contemplate my future aspirations to make a decent living while making a positive impact in this world. There is also the adventurous element of me who wants to expand my comfort zones so long as I do not compromise myself as a person. Then I often end up considering everyone in my life, my role in this world, and how all of these things play a role in teaching me the lessons I need. Of course, I also spend much time thinking about how my day will be, what I plan to accomplish during the day, and looking forward to the next adventure.
On a typical Friday night I am
Thinking about the weekend, or doing something involving my hobbies, thinking of how far I have come along on my little personal journey in this world, and where I will be next. At times, I find time to just enjoy myself and tend to what I need at a given moment or time.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
My mother got me into Dungeons & Dragons when I was five years old. I've been in and out of the game scene since. It is one of those things I will not give up. If I am not caught with D&D on my free time, I am likely engaged in play-by-post or multiplayer games where I am equally participating in a world of imagination. I love fantasy in its different forms and expressions, and will often default to geek terms at times even around my non-gamer friends.
I’m looking for
  • Guys and girls who like bi girls
  • Ages 24–34
  • Located anywhere
  • For new friends, short-term dating
You should message me if
You are willing to have intellectual conversations that challenge me, have a witty sense of humour in both light and dark shades of it, and can be down to earth and strive for self-authenticity.

What does this mean in terms of being on this site, the online dating scene, and so forth? In the long run, I see myself eventually settling down, but at this time, I am not going to give such things a timeline. So, when talking to me, I suggest abandoning any sense of anything longterm with me and trying to make a good friendship with me.

Being friends first is important for me to get a feel of the person and to see if we connect in anyway, shape, or form. From here, I can see if a person is going to just be a friend, a very good friend, a mutually beneficial relationship, or someone who I feel will complement me as a longterm partner. All the qualities that make a friend is important in my longterm relationships, as that includes the trust and other components that make a healthy relationship in the many forms that may take. In addition to the above, I want to enjoy the person's company, feel we can both be imperfect people who work on a good relationship, and someone who can feel like themselves around me and vice versa.

If you feel you can just simply hang out with me a few times in various mediums and figure this out, and can just be fine with where we end up from there, feel free to message me. I need at least a few days to a week to respond in most cases, and will try to keep people informed of where I am in the roller coaster that I call life. >.>
