I am witty, sharp, and impetuous.
My Self-Summary
I'm independent and smart, and I respect both traits as well. If
you can outwit me you will earn my respect and admiration forever.
Rules are my enemy, and by proxy often those that enforce them
(read: police officers, bosses, bureaucrats) though I generally
choose to follow the ones that make sense. I'm guided by my own
moral compass, and don't much care about whether others think of my
choices.
Arguing or debate is enjoyable, and I'm still naive enough to think
I can change the world, or at least my little corner of it. I'm
quick to make friends, but slow to let them get close. Everybody
likes me, but few really seem to *know* me.
You won't find exceptional kindness in me. But I am a very decent
person, and to me that is much more important. Few things disgust
me more than people who are superfically "nice" but once you get to
the bottom of them you find that they are, indeed, douchebags. I
love to laugh and make others laugh, and though my sense of humor
is rather off kilter, most people seem to enjoy it.
I've been single for a long time now, but recently have started
serial dating, lol. Just looking for the right fit, I guess. I am
looking for something serious, but won't just jump into it with
anybody. You gotta earn it.
I can carry on a conversation about just about anything; you will
never be bored talking with me, as I'm always looking for new
insights, angles, and hilarities involved in any subject.
What I’m doing with my life
I graduated college a year ago with a degree in
physics, and I've just started grad
school at UW Madison in the medical physics department.
I have two kittens, Phobos and Deimos, that I just adopted when I
moved to Madison. They are ridiculous and keep me entertained and
laughing. I'm falling in love all over them.
I like: movies, video games,
swimming,
biking,
hiking,
disc golf,
science, women, flirting, books, meeting
"interesting" people on this site, and delusions of grandeur. I'm
trying to teach myself the
piano with limited results.
I don't like: reality TV, American Idol, oil, SUV's, NASCAR,
rednecks, people who take themselves too seriously, religious
fundamentalists, the kind of feminists who hate all men (you know
who you are), nazis.
I’m really good at
Confidence, conversation, insults, swimming, kissing, taking a
joke, Soul Calibur 3,
cribbage, keeping secrets,
karaoke (maybe only
marginally good at that), physics, math, writing, debate, sleeping,
and flirting.
The first things people usually notice about me
I have a great smile. Or a great smirk, depending on my mood. It's
more often a smile these days.
My favorite books, movies, music, and food
Books: Stephen King, Stephen R. Donaldson, George R.R. Martin,
Ambrose Bierce are my favorite authors.
Movies: I like so many.. but I'll just rattle off a few... Army of
Darkness, Pan's Labrynth, Forrest Gump, Half a Loaf of Kung Fu (or
any martial arts movie with some semblance of a plot), Heartbreak
Ridge, The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly, most movies that don't have
sequels. Sealab 2021 owns.
Music: mostly alternative, hard rock and lately a lot of metal. My
favorite band is
Finntroll. It's a painful orgasm of
the ears.
Food: most non-metals work for me.
The six things I could never do without
The printed word. The human tongue. A sense of entitlement. Cold
logic. A warm heart. A rubber chicken with a pulley in the middle.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Politics. My
family. The injustice of it all. Math and Physics (don't worry,
only when "on the clock"). The future. Why I have to go to dating
sites to not find good women when I do well enough not finding good
women outside of dating sites.
On a typical Friday night I am
About equal chances of working, going out for beer and song, or
staying at home watching movies and tooling with my PC.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit here
I dream about
kissing more than I dream about sex.
You should message me if
You like what you see. I'm here to find a woman who is motivated,
real, attractive, intelligent, clever, and most importantly,
INTERESTED! If you think that might be you, I'd love to hear from
you.
Oh, and if you'd rather watch "Friends" than "Frasier," you needn't
apply :)
