Hello, world! Or at least the people on OKCupid!
I'm a 32 year old Indiana guy who's pretty normal in most definitions of the word. I'm just looking for some cool people here to make friends with...if anything comes from that, awesome! If not, it's cool too...the more friends I can make the better! :)
Puppeteer/Muppets/Sesame Street creator Jim Henson is my idol and a person who I feel embodied everything that is good about humanity. I miss him lots. I also think actors Bruce Campbell, Christian Bale, Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Hugh Laurie are super awesome.
I really enjoy musical theater, surprisingly enough...hey, I can appreciate great singing :)
I love going to the beach when the weather permits (being that this is Indiana, that's about...oh...2 months out of the year), sitting there and staring out over the water. Anything having to do with nature and being outside (unless it has to do with shooting animals) is cool with me.
I really love animation, Disney, Don Bluth and everything in between. Voice over actors (which it is my dream to be one day) have my admiration and respect.
Music is a major part of my life. It has gotten me through many a rough patch in my life, and I hope to one day soon get back into playing music. I really want to be a drummer/percussionist of some sort.
My favorite band of all time is Alice in Chains, followed by the Aquabats, Barenaked Ladies, Gotye and Pink Floyd. I'm a big Mumford and Sons, Of Monsters and Men, Ween, Weird Al Yankovic, Tim Blane, Dawes, Glen Phillips, Pink Floyd and Edwin McCain fan as well. Frank Sinatra and Dean Martin are also very high on my list...they are the epitome of cool.
I have a full-time job as a stocker in the produce department of a local grocery store. Been at the same company for 15 years...it's been my only place of employment. It's a job and it pays the bills, that's all I can really say about that.
British comedies, more specifically Monty Python, Red Dwarf, Mr Bean, and the comedian Eddie Izzard, are a pretty big obsession of mine, and they've done a lot to influence my particular dry yet off-the-wall and silly sense of humor. If you like British humor, that goes a long way in my book!
I have a younger brother and an older sister, as well as a kittycat (Nick Furry. Yup, I'm a nerd.), and a canine (Indy).
I'm definitely an animal person...as well as a pescatarian (I don't eat beef, chicken or turkey, but I do eat fish.) But I don't push my beliefs on those around me....if you want to eat meat, be my guest. :)
Well, I dunno what else to say really...
Oh yeah, I'm a huge sports fan...in football, it's the Colts, and in the NBA it's the Pacers. I would say baseball too, but I like the Astros so I am very ashamed of that fact. :( Haha.
