I'll read anything, and I keep a constant stream of books floating around, because I need to read before I go to sleep. I prefer Fantasy, especially Tolkien, Robert Jordan, and Brandon Sanderson. I also enjoy mythology, history, and anthropology.
I watch a decent amount of movies, usually hitting most of the big sci-fi/fantasy blockbusters. I make a point of seeing anything put out by Peter Jackson or Guillermo del Toro, as well as all of the Marvel Movieverse.
I usually follow 2-3 shows at a given time, usually as they come out. My big ones are Doctor Who, Sherlock, and Game of Thrones. I also mix in one or two anime, depending on what's good in a given season.
My music tastes are really eclectic. I don't listen to a huge amount, but my collection is a weird mix of indie fare, classic and prog rock, folky music, and bits of metal and electronica. My favorite band is the Protomen, and my favorite instrument is the electronic rock organ.
Everything, particularly Chinese. I can cook nearly everything that uses a saute pan.
Books, Notes, and Maps
I'm always worldbuilding, and I like to take my inspiration from real-world sources.
Right now, I'm focused on the Ancient Near East, but the period and location moves around a bit.
I'm also spend a lot of time thinking and talking about various media. I like to think I've developed a decent critical eye, but I know I have a long way to go.
