Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Welcome travellers!

On here looking for new friends and good conversations. I am seeing someone I'm head over heels for, and while she may be poly, I don't think I am. Some of the stuff I'm really into include movies, art, music, tattoos, nature, swimming/water activities, fitness, road trips, and occasionally geeking out & acting a little weird. ;)

I think labels are stupid and pointless and should be ignored. I say, think outside the box, try something different...that said, if you have any inherent problems with trans people, gender queer, or anything like that, move along because that's where I live, and we probably won't get along.

Whoa, kinda got preachy there, huh? Hmm....let's move on, shall we?
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Right now I'm working at a paint store in Waterloo. It's not the greatest, pay wise, but still, I enjoy it, it challenges me, and I'm the only one there with any arts background so I get to make all their signs and have some creativity in my retail job. That's tending to fill most of my time, but when I get a chance, I love to pull out my camera and just go out and shoot stuff...anything that catches my eye. This is on top of my less serious, more for amusements sake short films. I also do the occasional freelance art, mostly digital art or the like.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
I'm a very good listener, even if I can't always come up with advice for what's being said. I'm good at teaching people to drive standard...I've taught several friends, and so far, so good. I'm good at drawing, painting, reading, and writing without confusing they're, there & their, your & you're, and other little snips of grammar. I also have a good eye for film, and do some freelance cinematography.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I'd like to say it's my eyes or something, but it could be that I'm thin, or (depending on what I'd wearing) the tattoos. I don't know. I have enough troubling figuring out that someone's noticed me at all, so figuring out what they noticed is a mystery to me.

This question is easier on Halloween as I often tend to go all out...
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
I hate the term favourite, I can never narrow things down that much, so I have lists. Significant ones:

I love to read: (a) Anything by Poppy Z. Brite, Neil Gaiman, Christopher Moore or Chuck Palahniuk (especially Lost Souls, Lazarus Heart, Liquor, Lamb, Dirty Job & Invisible Monsters). Also, Dead Water Zone, Make Love the Bruce Campbell Way, Good Omens, Hollow Chocolate Bunnies of the Apocalypse, Siddhartha (or anything Hermann Hesse), City of Bones, Gods Behaving Badly, the works of Oscar Wilde, and non-fiction Born to Run, Long Way Down, Permanence or really anything about film making, tattoos or cultural studies, among others. But really, the list is always growing.

(b) Lots, you should see the shelves in my apartment: A life less Ordinary, 28 Days later, Batman Begins, The Machinist, Se7en, Fight Club, Big Fish, Charlie & the Chocolate Factory, Pirates of the Carribean, the LotR trilogy, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Titanic, Aliens, Galaxy Quest, Matchstick Men, White Oleander, Princess Bride, Robin Hood: Men in Tights, Young Frankenstein, Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory. Extra points if you can figure out how all those connect together.

(c) I don't actually have cable for TV, so I don't watch it when it's actually on the air (unless I'm at someone elses place), everything I see tends to be on DVD. That said, favourite shows include: Smallville, Mythbusters, House, Bones, anything Joss Whedon (especially Buffy, Angel and Firefly), BSG, Life, Walking Dead, Dead Like Me, Star Trek (pretty much all of it), Supernatural, Orange is the New Black, GoT...

(d) Some include: Nirvana, Placebo, Muse, Bowie, NIN, Jakalope, Beethoven, Kasabian, Tea Party, 311, Goldfinger, Deftones, Ash, Juno Reactor, Gandarvas, Beck, The Doors, Elliott Smith, Garbage, Jeff Buckley, The Pixies, U.S.S., Depeche Mode, V.A.S.T., The Killers, The Dresden Dolls, Florence + the Machine, Poe, Melotron, Holly McNarland, Three Days Grace, Bjork, Devatchka, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Sam Roberts, Strata, Billy Talent, Arcade Fire & Neverending White Lights, Ashes Divide. I love talking about new music with people and finding new artists.

(e) Strawberries, Italian, Chinese, Indian, Thai (good Indian & Thai, bad can just be scary), been recently getting into Sushi. I'm working on cutting out, or at least severely limiting my intake of junk foods, but I do allow myself the occasional cheat meal or pizza or something. I like experimenting with cooking and coming up with my own recipes. My specialties seem to be stir frys, chicken parmesan, and Guinness Irish stew.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
My friends and family (is that one or two things?)
Movies, music
Something to draw with/on
Nature, getting away from the city from time to time
Stimulation (mental and otherwise).
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
I'm pretty sure I spend a lot of time thinking about everything. I overthink things too much.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
These days, anything is possible, the idea of a typical friday night hasn't really existed in a while, so, y'know, to quote Willie Scott (geek points if you get that), "Anything goes."
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I'm an insomniac, and usually really need to have music playing to fall asleep.

If you've been intrigued by some of what I've written and have an insatiable need to learn more. If you're a movieholic like me, definately write me. You are crazy into books, tattoos, weird/strange/cool/interesting art or finding little backwards, out of the way places.
