I am intelligent, irreverent, and mildly crazy.

My Self-Summary

I have something of a dry sense of humor that I thoroughly enjoy. My interests range from the terribly nerdy to more tame things like cooking and music. I enjoy backpacking and other outdoorsy stuff, motorbike adventures, wandering, and Judo. I am very family oriented and tend to be a dedicated if somewhat flaky friend. I consider myself something of an eccentric character, with eclectic tastes and interests and classic charm.

What I’m doing with my life

For the past years I have been focused on family, stubbornly trying to do everything at once and in the end I fear some things suffered. Currently I am a student trying to wrap up undergrad to get into medical school. I do protein research with a great group and work for a state analytical chemistry lab where I plot grandiose things through the tedium.

I’m really good at

I like to consider myself a jack of all trades and I think I am reasonably skilled at most things I try my hand at. Usually when I start to think I am getting really good at something I have a humbling experience, though I think I am pretty close to mastering the nuances of procrastination.

The first things people usually notice about me

I have been told I have nice eyes, but I have also been told that sometimes I stare with intensity that boarders on creepy. Beyond superficial things, people typically notice early on that I am opinionated and sometimes appear to lack tact because I speak my mind freely and honestly.

The six things I could never do without

All five of Maslow's hierarchy of needs and a cutting edge.

I spend a lot of time thinking about

I spend a great deal of time thinking about the arbitrary crap we take for granted, getting pissed off about it, and threatening to go live in a tree in protest. When I am not being overly cynical many things interest me and I spent a lot of time musing. Recurring themes center around interactions of people/critters, systems and diseases, and energy. I also spend a lot of time plotting adventures, thinking about my future, and entertaining insane thoughts. I have a wild imagination that keeps me very amused.
