My self-summary
"We keep moving forward, opening new doors, and doing new things, because we're curious and curiosity keeps leading us down new paths." -Walt Disney

More than anything else, curiosity drives me. When I was six, I remember reading that mankind would visit Mars by the year 2014. I wanted so badly to be one of those astronauts. It's 20 years later, and while I am not very likely to be rocketing off to Mars this year, I think this story highlights that very key aspect of my personality. Why strap on an air tank and dive into the ocean, or climb to the top of the highest mountain? To see what's there! An eagerness to explore and to learn has stuck with me for my entire life, and its not likely to be going anywhere anytime soon.

In a nutshell, I am the type of guy that jumps into a swimming pool without checking to see how cold the water is first. I want a woman that will do the same.
What I’m doing with my life
I recently quit my job in order to be open to find something more fulfilling. At the moment I have absolutely no idea what the coming months will bring. Sorry if being temporarily unemployed is a deal breaker. If that's the case, let's be real; we probably wouldn't have gotten along anyway.

What else am I doing with my life? Doing my best to say yes to everything! It is amazing what opportunities life can hand you when you just say yes to that quirky date idea from that girl that isn't quite your type, or to that party invite from that person that you barely know.
I’m really good at
Personal finance. Sexy huh?

Doing the flippy thing with food in a skillet.
The first things people usually notice about me
I am often stopped by people and told that I have a unique accent. I was born and raised in California!
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Having the insatiable curiosity that I do, it is no surprise that I am a pretty avid reader. My bookshelf is overflowing with books that I have read and loved, as well as plenty that I have yet to crack open. I tend to read 2-4 books at a time that are all wildly different.

The book that I read most recently was Strange Pilgrims by Gabriel Garcia Marquez. Currently reading The General in His Labyrinth by the same author. My favorite is probably 100 Years of Solitude (are you noticing a theme?), and I keep a copy of Hemingway's short stories next to my bed. Despite the subject matter, Lolita is one of my favorite books. Don't judge it until you read it!

Game of Thrones and The Walking Dead are both big events in my house. Also Parks & Rec and Arrested Development.

My favorite food is breakfast food. Give me all of the bacon and eggs that you have.

The best movies are those B-rated ones with the absurd plot lines that you randomly find on Netflix. So bad that they're good!
The six things I could never do without
I own literally nothing that I would be devastated about losing. The richness of my life comes from relationships and experiences. That being said, there are a few things that I am partial to.

1) A good book - Or maybe two or three. I usually read multiple at a time.
2) Sour beer - What? You've never had sour beer? You, my friend, are missing out on one of life's true pleasures! Allow me to introduce you to it.
3) Nature - As John Muir said, "We all need beauty as well as bread."
4) An adventure to plan - I currently have backpacking trips to Zion Narrows and Yosemite in the works.
5) Coffee - Every morning I sit on my couch and sip my coffee while I quietly contemplate what is on my mind. I would be nothing without this meditative time. It is more of a spiritual thing than a caffeine addiction, though it is probably that too.
6) Shiracha ketchup - Apart, I can take 'em or leave 'em, but when their forces combine they become the best condiment ever!
I spend a lot of time thinking about
What kind of messages you ladies must get from creeps on this site that make you include the disclaimers you write at the bottom of your page.
On a typical Friday night I am
either at a brewery with my best friends or packing for a weekend camping trip.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
If you have a small dog, I'll pretend to be indifferent to it, but I'll secretly love it.
