My Self-Summary

This is a very brief update to what used to be in this space: I am not looking to date. That said, I'm not outright rejecting it either, simply that I am not particularly looking. I enjoy a good conversation, and appreciate new friendships, but.. ok, let's be honest, shall we? I'm a workaholic with a vaguely active social life and I'm not terribly good at making time for new people, so, should this not have scared you off yet, it's probably fair to say that I'm unlikely to agree to meet you based on one 100-word email that consists of "You seem nice. Wanna have a cup of coffee/grab a drink/etc." (I'm vaguely more likely to say yes if you propose shots and a bit of a snog, but that's terribly forward, and depending on my mood might terrify me.)

Scared you off yet? If not, proceed.

What I’m doing with my life

Sometimes I read some stuff. My job, in fact, involves reading things.

I’m really good at

Honestly, I'm not sure. I mean, I know I can read pretty well. And my cooking isn't terrible. Oh, and I clean. Chronic tidier. Seriously. Leave me alone in a messy room long enough and I'll start to compulsively straighten anything I can reach.

The first things people usually notice about me

In pictures, at any rate, it is generally either my eyes or my lips. Outside of that, don't know.

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

A) All of them? I'm a big fan of Katya Reimann, Katie Fforde, JoAnn Harris, Sharon Shinn. I really enjoyed The Emperor's New Mind, The Golden Ratio, and How We are Hungry. B) I tend to stick with comedy and romance more than just about anything else. However, I also enjoy foreign films, especially french and kung fu. And I have this thing for movies based on video games and comics. C) Most music is good for something. I'm not a huge fan of booming bass or rap as a general thing, but I will listen to just about anything. And do listen to just about anything. I really enjoy Madeleine Peyroux, Under the Influence of Giants, Paolo Nutini, The Feeling, Audioslave, Carrie Newcomer who rocks... really, The Weepies, The Pierces, Daft Punk, Katy Perry, Lady Gaga, Kate Nash, Lily Allen, The Rakes, Arctic Monkeys, Ceu, etc, etc D) To cook, whatever's around. To go out for: Indian, Japanese, Thai, Italian, American

The six things I could never do without

1) books or something else to read 3) music 4) friends ) 5) work/activity 6) transportation

(2 has, in fact, been deleted. And I've nothing to replace it with. Revel in its absence.)

I spend a lot of time thinking about

Whatever book I'm reading or about to read or just finished or sometimes all three at the same time and how I really need to actually fold the laundry on my bed or make my bed sometime and how I could maybe use to vacuum again and what sort of flowers I'd like to plant except that I don't have a yard to plant them in at the moment, but maybe some pots or something and do I really want to live downtown again, because I'm not really sure that I do, but it'd be much more convenient and what nights do I work next week and

On a typical Friday night I am

Reading

The most private thing I’m willing to admit here

I'm terrified of everything. That's not hyperbole.

You should message me if

You feel like it. I'm pretty likely to respond. That being said, I generally send a response roughly the length of your email, so if you want length, give me something to work with. <3

So tell me, what's on your keychain?
