My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I am a professional Astro-Nerd, thankyouverymuchforasking. A man of science. I’m the guy who stays away from football games but screams like a maniac when a robot lands on Mars. I have a decent job doing what I love. It doesn’t pay what it should (as with most jobs) but it’s plenty to get by on in Tucson. Plus, I have a lucrative hobby suing telemarketers (seriously).

But do not think I have no “spiritual” side to me. I do, but it’s totally different from most people’s. Recently I read something that literally brought tears to my eyes:

“Be Humble, for you are made of earth.
Be Noble, for you are made of stars.” - Old Serbian Proverb

This proverb is strictly, totally, completely true. You and I and the computer you’re reading this on are all made of star dust. Our carbon, nitrogen, oxygen, and iron atoms were forged in ancient supernova, billions of years ago. We share a connection to the larger universe out there, for it is where we come from. As Neil Degrasse Tyson says, "We are in the Universe, but the Universe is also within us."

Nerd and a geek (there is a difference). Lover of movies with a huge DVD & Blu-Ray collection. Lover of books ditto. Lover of manga and anime and sushi (nom nom nom nom)! Enjoy hiking, camping, nature in general. Big on water harvesting and the green movement and social justice. Also, of course, astronomy, stargazing math, physics, and computers. Many odd board games adorn my shelves. There have also been credible & troubling rumors of inexplicableSteampunk activities. I have so many different interests and hobbies that I don’t have time for all of them. (Is it a strategic mistake at this stage to admit that I still play with LEGO's?) Meh. "Life is too important to waste it by growing up."

I’m smart (not to brag), funny (so I’m told), weird (obviously), artistic (I like to think), irreverent (ask my boss), and an acquired taste (ask my Ex). But it all works for me. Mostly.

By all indications, my 2nd half-century shall be even better than the first. I shall prevail in the end. If I have not yet prevailed, it simply means that today is not yet the end. Rawr!
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Trying to stay afloat in difficult economic times. Looking for love, affection, and acceptance. Trying to be a good Father to the most wonderful, (not so) little girl in the world. Hoping to do more good than harm in the long run. Failing in some areas, succeeding in others. You know… living it, like everyone else.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Cooking, writing, art, gardening, landscaping, talking, listening, interior decorating, table-top gaming, public speaking, astronomy, physics, science, playing with kittens and potty-training parrots.

Plus I have some cool skills that I only talk about at those other online dating sites. ;D

With my hairstyle I look exactly like Bruce Willis or Patrick Stewart (but without all that charisma or charm or sexiness to get in the way and spoil the effect).

Or if you can figure out this riddle (which I made up myself):

My south is my north.
My north is my south.
But if you go to my south,
you are still not at north.

(No points will be deducted from those who fail to decipher the riddle. It's just for fun.)
