I enjoy travel, practicing my Spanish, cooking, wine, music, movies and being outdoors in all seasons. I enjoy running, martial arts and generally being active. I make the most of the warm weather, but I love to ski and being outside in the winter, too. I get totally psyched up about the farmers' market on Saturday mornings. I enjoy great conversation on almost any topic and have tons of interests ranging from politics and economics to football and 1930's jazz. I follow current events and politics and I am fairly opinionated and pretty far to the left.

I have a Ph.D. in astronomy and a cool job working in the field.

I am vegetarian and lead a very healthy lifestyle, but I still like to have a good time :)

I am looking for a smart, interesting woman that is attractive, into healthy living, and has a good, compassionate heart. Such a person could probably run a mile or two without dying, would know that there is no 'e' in the word 'woman', and put a little effort into recycling. Hopefully, she is a wonderful kisser, too. A tall order, I know.

Besides my career, I have my family and pets, and I'm passionate about environmental and wildlife conservation issues. I value my community and I'm becoming more engaged and involved.

I am disturbed by the direction our nation is taking, and even more worried about the serious of environmental catastrophes that humanity is creating. I would like to live in a sustainable and more decent society, where people are trained to think for themselves instead of being programmed by the television, but I don't know how to go about creating one.
