I am rhythmic, harmonic, and melodic.
My Self-Summary
I think we're all to complex to be defined in a little box like
this. I try to live my life so that I get constant chances to use
both the left and right sides of my brain...so far so good.
What I’m doing with my life
Music is a huge part of my life! I drum in bands that have played
with Bjork, Sonic Youth, The Verve, Spiritualized, Blonde Redhead,
My Bloody Valentine, Chairlift and Crystal Stilts. Does any of this
strike a chord with you?
I took some years off from performing to learn the business side of
the music industry and became an entertainment attorney for a major
record label. I left that gig to travel the world and ended up
visiting 12 countries in 2007. Now I'm a media attorney for a
well-known local TV station/network and am gladly back busy
drumming. I'm also looking forward to donating my time to represent
a family in their upcoming foreclosure hearing in order to try and
save their home. In the post-Bush era, people need to help each
other.
I’m really good at
Drumming, kissing, dancing, laughing and traveling.
The first things people usually notice about me
Probably my lips or my smile.
My favorite books, movies, music, and food
Documentary films and biopics like Decline of the Western
Civilization, Joe Strummer: The Future Is Unwritten and The
Weathermen Underground. Some other favorite films and directors are
Midnight Express, Marathon Man, Boys From Brazil, A Clockwork
Orange, Glen Garry Glenn Ross, Drugstore Cowboy, Christiane F.,
anything Scorcese or Kenneth Anger.
Music is to big a subject to cover here but my iPod shuffles
everything from The Clash to Parliament/Funkadelic, Band Of Horses,
Cat Power, TV On The Radio, Mahogany, Cocteau Twins, Black Flag,
Panda Bear, Deerhunter, M.I.A., Nick Cave, LCD Soundsystem, Daft
Punk to Curtis Mayfield.
Usually reading a few books at a time. Things like Rip It Up And
Start Again by Simon Reynolds, Tighten Up by Marc Griffiths, The
Long Tail by Chris Anderson and The Amboy Dukes by Irving
Shulman.
All types of food...Thai, Italian, French...bring it!
The six things I could never do without
Besides the two obvious things (family and friends), there's music,
desire, meditation...and my passport!
The most private thing I’m willing to admit here
I read magazines and newspapers from back to front.
You should message me if
You're open to new experiences and have a positive mental attitude.
Bonus points if you are (or used to be) musically or artistically
inclined or involved in some kind of creative or scientific field.
In a nutshell, you dig passion and creativity.
I'd much prefer to connect with you if you know that we're only
using this site as a tool to meet people in person relatively
quickly and step away from the computer screen. Please...no baggage
from ex-relationships (or what you claim to be an ex-relationship).
You should be living in the present and not the past and must be
available. Also, I was raised to be a person of my word and that's
an important quality I'm looking for in others. Thus, flakiness
with plan making is a real turn-off.
