My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
“What’s a dazzling urbanite like you doing in a rustic setting like this?”

I’ve been in NYC since 2008 (except for the one year I spent in Los Angeles). I grew up in Texas and New Orleans, but… I kinda hate the south and don’t have any desire to ever move back (trust me, it’s gross and racist there).

I’m honest and creative. A bit geeky, but not overly so. Lover of science and art, especially those are combined in the same experience. I’m a minimalist, and keep a contemporary and sparse apartment and wardrobe. I tend to go for simplicity, quality over quantity, and am constantly looking for ways to make everyday life more efficient. INTJ and ravenclaw if that matters to you.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I’ve been working in digital design for 16 years, currently as an ACD (associate creative director). On the side I’ve dabbled in various types of art: painting, graphic design, and music remixing. World travel is one of my passions and I’m always planning where I want to visit next. And wherever I go, the art museum is almost always my first stop.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Trivia games (trivial pursuit, jeopardy, pub games). Planning travel itineraries. Being on-time. Photoshop. Mario Kart.
The first things people usually notice about me

Glasses. I’m blind without them and can’t stand contact lenses.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
Books: Anything by Douglas Adams or Neil Gaiman. I still love Harry Potter after all these years. The Dresden Files (which is basically Harry Potter for adults). Ernest Cline, Christopher Moore, John Green, Chuck Klosterman, Nick Hornby, John Scalzi, Chuck Palahniuk...

Movies: My all-time favorite filmmaker is Wes Anderson. Anything by Quentin Tarantino. Early Tim Burton (everything after “Ed Wood” is spotty at best).

TV: Doctor Who, Sherlock, Luther, Legend of Korra/The Last Airbender, House of Cards, Community (except for the “gas-leak year”), 30 Rock, Mad Men, Downton Abbey, Star Trek (all of them), QI, The IT Crowd, Arrested Development, The West Wing, The Newsroom, The Devil Is A Part-Timer, Sword Art Online,

Podcasts: WTF, Welcome to Night Vale, Judge John Hodgman, The Smartest Man In The World, No Such Thing As A Fish.

YouTube: Crash Course, Idea Channel, CGP Grey, Hey Ash What’cha Playin?

Music: The Smiths, The National, Elliott Smith, Calexico, Ryan Adams, Queens of the Stone Age, Joy Division, The Cure, Death Cab For Cutie, Counting Crows. I have a special love of game soundtracks and scores, particularly RPGs by Nobuo Uematsu, Yasunori Mitsuda, Hitoshi Sakimoto, Masashi Hamauzu, and more.

Food: Tex-mex enchiladas, Chicken Tikka Masala with really good naan, Whataburger onion rings, authentic Ramen (Tonkatsu), the standard NYC breakfast (sausage, egg, and cheese, on a bagel, from any bodega deli). I'm OK with you being a vegetarian if you're OK with me being an omnivore.

Games: Chrono Trigger, Red Dead Redemption, FIFA, Final Fantasy (all of them, but mostly XIV at the moment). I used to play WoW, but I've been clean for several years now.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
How I can spend more time traveling instead of sitting in an office. It’s a challenge.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
The same thing we do every night Pinky....

What’s typical? I’m probably doing much of the same things you are: visiting friends, out to see a movie, or just relaxing at home reading a book or playing a game.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
Birds creep me out. Did you know they are dinosaurs?

Offer a few tips to help matches win you over.
You don't play relationship games and are honest about what you want. Life is too short for anything but the truth.

You are looking for a travel partner to explore new places, cultures, and experiences.

I really only have two instant deal-breaker requirements: you should be a non-smoker and non-religious. Beyond that everything just comes down to compatibility and attraction (emotional, physical, and mental), to which I try to be open to a lot of types.

Ultimately, I want a long-term relationship. The constant dating scene isn't for me, I want off this site and I see it as a means to an end. I hate the term "settle down", but I guess that is the end goal.
