My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I recently moved back to Houston after spending 6 years in New York City and 1 year in Los Angeles.
Although I grew up in Texas and New Orleans, I feel much more like a New Yorker now.

Lover of science, history, and art, especially when two or more of those are combined in the same experience. Even more if you need a road-trip or an overseas flight to see it. Museums are my comfort activity, and usually the first stop whenever traveling.

I think Anthony Bourdain has the best job in the world.

INTJ, if that matters to you. Ravenclaw, if that matters more.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I’ve been working in digital UX & UI design / marketing / advertising / social media for 15 years, currently as a creative/art director. Being active on social media is part of my job (you have to understand these platforms in order to design for them or recommend them to clients).

On the side I’ve dabbled in various types of art: painting, graphic design, and music remixing. Been featured in a few independent art galleries.

Attempting to cook recipes I found on YouTube, but failing miserably.

I love world travel and I’m always planning where I want to visit next.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Trivia games (trivial pursuit, jeopardy, pub games). Planning travel itineraries. Being on-time. Photoshop. Mario Kart.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
Glasses. I’m blind without them and can’t stand contact lenses.

Sometimes I’m quiet when meeting new people at first. Do not mistake my reservation as shyness. I spend time studying people, and then once I know them better I open up.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
Books: Anything by Douglas Adams or Neil Gaiman. I still love Harry Potter after all these years. The Dresden Files (which is basically Harry Potter for adults). Ernest Cline, Christopher Moore, John Green, Chuck Klosterman, Nick Hornby, John Scalzi, Chuck Palahniuk...

Movies: My all-time favorite filmmaker is Wes Anderson. Quentin Tarantino. Early Tim Burton. The Big Lebowski. Star Wars (original trilogy, though I don't hate the prequels as much as some others do).

TV: Legend of Korra (KorrAsami supporter since book 3), House of Cards, Community (except for the “gas-leak year”), Doctor Who, Sherlock, Mad Men, Downton Abbey, Star Trek, Arrested Development, The West Wing, 30 Rock, Game of Thrones, QI and a bunch of other British panel shows like Would I Lie To You and The Big Fat Quiz Show.

Podcasts: WTF, Welcome to Night Vale, Judge John Hodgman, NPR's Pop Culture Happy Hour

YouTube: Crash Course, Idea Channel, CGP Grey

Music: The Smiths, The National, Elliott Smith, Calexico, Ryan Adams, Queens of the Stone Age, Joy Division, The Cure, Death Cab For Cutie, Counting Crows, Frightened Rabbit. I have a special love of game soundtracks and scores, particularly Japanese RPGs by Nobuo Uematsu, Yasunori Mitsuda, Hitoshi Sakimoto, Masashi Hamauzu, and more.

Food: Tex-mex enchiladas, Chicken Tika-masala (with really good naan and basmati rice), Whataburger onion rings. And after spending many years in NYC, I take the Jon Stewart approach to pizza.

Games: Chrono Trigger, Red Dead Redemption, FIFA, Final Fantasy (all of them, but especially VII). Used to play WoW, but gave it up years ago.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Where can I find a decent NYC-style bagel? Maybe I'll just order some Zabar's online.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
The same thing we do every night Pinky....

What’s typical? I’m probably doing much of the same things you are: visiting friends, out to see a movie, try a new restaurant, or just relaxing at home reading a book or playing a game.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
Birds creep me out. Did you know they are dinosaurs?

Offer a few tips to help matches win you over.
• You don't play relationship games and are honest about what you want. Life is too short for anything but the truth. I'm done with the dating scene would like to find a long-term/permanent relationship. No more meaningless flings for me, I just don't have the energy for them.
• If you are looking for a travel partner to explore the world and experience new places, cultures, foods, music, art.
• If you are NOT looking to start a family. (I don't like children and want to enjoy my hard-earned rewards by spending my time/money on myself and my partner).

Instant Deal-breakers:
1. Smokers
2. Religious
3. Has kids
4. Conservative / Red state voter. examples:
- Pro-life
- Pro-gun
- Anti-LGBTQ
- Anti-Feminist
- Anti-Science / Evolution / Climate change
- Pro-Fox News

Beyond that everything just comes down to attraction (physical and mental), to which I try to keep an open mind.
