My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Grew up in Texas and New Orleans, spent many years in New York City, now in Los Angeles. Lover of science, science-fiction, and modern art, especially when 2 or more of those are combined in the same experience. Even more if you need a road-trip to see it. INTJ, if that matters to you.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I’ve been working in digital design for 15 years, currently as a creative/art director. On the side I’ve dabbled in various types of art: painting, graphic design, and music remixing. I love world travel and I’m always planning where I want to visit next.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Trivia games (trivial pursuit, jeopardy, pub games). Planning travel itineraries. Always being reliable to those who have my loyalty. Being on-time. Photoshop.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
Glasses. I’m blind without them and can’t stand contact lenses.

Sometimes I’m quiet when meeting new people at first. Do not mistake my reservation as shyness. I spend time studying people, and then once I know them better I open up.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
Books: Anything by Douglas Adams or Neil Gaiman. I still love Harry Potter after all these years. The Dresden Files (which is basically Harry Potter for adults). Ready Player One. Chuck Klosterman, Redshirts

Movies: Everything by Wes Anderson. Surprisingly most people’s least favorite film of his is my favorite: The Darjeeling Limited. Everything by Tarantino. Early Tim Burton. The Big Lebowski.

TV: Legend of Korra, House of Cards, Community (except for the “gas-leak year”), Doctor Who, Sherlock, Mad Men, Downton Abbey, Star Trek, QI

Podcasts: WTF, Welcome to Night Vale, Judge John Hodgman

YouTube: Crash Course, Idea Channel, CGP Grey

Music: The Smiths, The National, Nobuo Uematsu, Elliott Smith, Calexico, Ryan Adams, Queens of the Stone Age, Joy Division, The Cure, Death Cab For Cutie

Food: Tex-mex enchiladas, Chicken Tika-masala (with really good naan), Whataburger onion rings (which I sadly can’t get in California)

Games: Chrono Trigger, Red Dead Redemption, FIFA, Final Fantasy (all of them, but especially VII). Used to play WoW, but gave it up years ago because I already had a job.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
How I can spend more time traveling or making art instead of sitting in an office. Do I need to buy a new DSLR, or can I get by with just my iPhone? Where can I find a decent NYC-style bagel in LA?
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Catching a special presentation at the ArcLight with a Q&A afterwards. Searching for the best ramen in LA. Maybe going to see an exhibition at Gallery 1988.

Or just spending the night with friends... because they put the whole series on Netflix.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
Birds creep me out. Did you know they are dinosaurs?
You should message me if
Offer a few tips to help matches win you over.
You want to go to LACMA or Griffith Observatory and want someone to geek out with.

You don't play relationship games and are honest about what you want. Life is too short for anything but the truth.
