How about we run up a mountain..?

Are you an outdoorsy, positive, energetic, silly person, like me? If so, you should stop reading now, and send me a message... haha

I prefer to surround myself with generally happy people and people who aren't whining about being 'bored'... also, I prefer to use full sentences, or at least whole words, and you should too!

If you can't immediately determine from my profile that I am worth getting to know, well, that's your loss... hahaha

I am Bren... I rock the boat, but I don't tip the boat over!

Odds are you can probably find something you enjoy on my profile... If that is not the case, we probably shouldn't bother wasting our time. Theoretically we all 'love to have fun' but we all also have our own subconscious definition, concept, and perception of what will be fun for us. I believe I am fairly aware of my own concept of fun, and as a result of that I am able to easily keep myself entertained. It would be wonderful if I found someone interested in sharing that entertainment with me.

I am not a spectator...

I climb trees, I climb up and jump off of boulders, I leap from rock to rock and play 'the ground is lava' (usually with my kids)...

I believe that hiking, camping, canoeing, swimming, picnics, and cross country road trips are great family friendly activities... These are activities I share with my children, and I want to share these activities with my future partner.

I make the best canoes in the world... seriously. You can see one of them on page 158 of the December 2010/January 2011 issue of Men's Journal magazine.

I am energetic, nonsensical, and pretty darn silly.

I will make you smile, even if I have to push on your face with my fingers.

"If we both don't turn out to be worse than we seem, we ought to be friends." --L. Frank Baum in 'Sky Island'

I am looking for someone who likes roadtrips, hiking/walking, swimming, and possibly canoeing... someone who can be silly right along with me or someone who at least won't resent me for my silliness...

I like to be outdoors, whether it is hiking up a mountain, trail running, bouldering, camping, kayaking, canoeing, rafting, swimming (in rivers/lakes/oceans/pools), climbing trees, casual tennis, badminton, or ping pong (or table tennis) with a friend, digging ridiculously deep holes in the sand and climbing in, sailing on a breezy Spring day. I like swinging on swings, sliding down slides, riding roller coasters, and more!

I hike 'long' and 'strenuous' trails, sometimes during 'inclement weather' conditions, but rarely do I think the trails are long enough, strenuous enough, or experiencing enough inclementness (I like running in the mud)...

I need a really good waterproof camera... Don't let me forget!

I believe frolicking is a wonderful and mood enhancing activity.

I appreciate banter, whether it is witty or playful, or simply banter for banter's sake.

I bounce around practically incessantly, sometimes literally off the walls. I sometimes come up with random things to say which often seemingly make no sense.

I am ridiculously ticklish...

I like to hear the wind in the trees. I like to hear the river rushing over the rocks. I like to feel the sand/dirt/grass between my toes. I like to smell the wildflowers in a field, but my sense of smell is quite terrible...
What I’m doing with my life
I make Kevlar canoes and I love my job! I also do fiberglass and gel-coat boat repair on the side... of course I could repair other things made of these materials, but I love boats! :-P

Also looking for the right house or piece of land to call my own...
I’m really good at
I like to draw. Most other people say I am good, but I am usually not satisfied with my work.

Preparing pasta to perfection. But really, I do enjoy cooking a variety of dishes and even some baking.

I also vacuum and wash dishes, hehe.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food

Primitive Skills and Crafts - Richard and Linda Jamison

the Campsite Companion - Rob Beattie (every camper should have a copy of this)

a Field Guide to the Wildlife of North America - Bryan Richard

Movies: How to Train Your Dragon, Aeon Flux, Ella Enchanted, Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, Labyrinth, Life Of Brian, Love Actually, Monty Python And The Holy Grail, the Neverending Story, Say Anything, Serendipity, Stardust, Willow, Willy Wonka, the Wizard of Oz

Some bands that never leave my playlist include: Squirrel Nut Zippers, Flight of the Conchords, VNV Nation, Two Man Gentlemen Band, New Order, Kaiser Chiefs, Collective Soul, Soilwork, Static X...

I like practically any fast or upbeat music. I also like some slow songs but I am much pickier about them.

Food: I love food! Dishes with spinach, asparagus, or cheese are usually fantastic! My favorite flavors would have to be grilled pineapple or fresh/sweet red, yellow or orange bell peppers.

Food - (I don't believe this section was intended for life's basic needs, but I really do love food!)

All the places I have not yet been (so, who wants to travel the world with me?).
On a typical Friday night I am
-watching a movie or show on Netflix.

Ideal Friday nights:

-setting up a tent on a mountain and starting a campfire.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
is that finding someone who is independently outdoorsy, who chooses to hike even if they can't find anyone else to go with them, is very important to me... I would prefer not to drag someone around a mountain if they don't really want to be there.
