I am fun, unique, and smart.

My Self-Summary

I was born in Hungary. Moved to the States when I was 10. I still read, speak, and write in Hungarian, thought not very well, and I do make trips to Europe frequently.

I joined the Army Reserve at the end of my Junior year in High School and went to boot camp that summer. Came back, did my Senior year, then worked full time while doing my Reserve thing (once a month, two weeks a year). Got activated and went to Iraq in 2003, came back in 2004, then began attending College. Left the Army in 2006, just got my
BA in History this past May (2009), with plenty of Professional Writing courses under my belt. Decided during my Senior year in the University to start writing a book series. Um...

And here I am now. I consider myself a writer first, artist second, and an overall dreamer and idealist. Though my imagination is vividly active most of the time, I am also firmly grounded and pragmatic when it comes to making a living, and I always, ALWAYS, do as I say and mean what I say. I seek knowledge and I am always learning about the world around me and the people I meet. Simple things always please me as much as complex issues. I've been told that I have very complex character traits - I don't agree, but whatever.

I tend to be a hopeless romantic, but this does not reflect in my poetry or writing (well, at least not yet), I prefer to be in love, rather than being in a "whatever" relationship.
I am liberal and accept people of all different walks. I am intolerant when it comes to intolerance. I am confident and look for such in a girl, though it is by no means a rule. Oh, and I am very selective when it comes to considering people as potential dates.

What I’m doing with my life

Substitute teaching, house painting, and planning on going into healthcare next year. Writing and organizing a semi-fiction/poetry/photobook (yeah, it's a format of my own creation) for a Christmas release, also writing a historical fiction book series (probably for the rest of my life), practicing historical European weapon handling, about to get into a career, doing whatever I can to change the world around me, and looking for a partner in crime!!

I’m really good at

Thinking, and sometimes not thinking, teaching myself Western Martial Arts, McGyver stuff, writing, poetry, photography, interpretation and analysis, wondering how the world could end so I can be inspired to finish my latest book.

The first things people usually notice about me

Some would say my eyes.

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

Here is the narrow end of it.
Books I like anything well written and thought filling, any genre by any author(s). Most of my books are about History, Poetry (Poe, Keats, The Shakester - sonnets), plays, also including Shakespeare, politics and Conan (Robert E. Howard), Arthur C Clarke, books on Biology and Quantum Theories, Christopher Hitchens, Sam Harris, Richard Dawkins, Carl Sagan, Joseph Campbell, etc.

Movies: Conan the Barbarian, Great Expectations (newer E. Hawke - Uma), Predator - I think every kid in America should have to sit down and watch this movie so their testicles will drop; the movie is pure testosterone and made for males. I also like the Christian Bale Batman movies, K-Pax, What Dreams May Come, The Pianist, American Beauty, A Time to Kill, All Quiet On the Western Front (old), Schindler's List, The Majestic (no I don't think its cheesy), Wall-E, Michael Mann movies, Walk the Line, Transformers (both) and cartoons, In the Valley of Elah (duh), American History X, The Running Man, Traffic, Crash, Blow, Die Hards, Seven, The Green Mile, Good Night and Good Luck, Thirteen Days... and yes I do cry at plenty of movies. Documentaries... hell I have 120 + movies, all which I like.

Music: Anything with talent. No, this does not mean that I don't understand music, it means that I understand music and see that there is an abhorrent lack of talent in the industry today. NIN, VAST, Grunge, other industrial and alternative rock, some hip-hop like Saul Williams, K-Os, and the Roots. Billie Holiday, Julie London, Johnny Hartman, John Coltrane, Robert Johnson, secret crush on Taylor Swift, long fake romance with Sarah McLachlan. Local acts and JAZZ are coolest ever!

If it's edible, I'll eat it. No lactose, let the poor animals feed their own kind you sick bastards!

The six things I could never do without

Shallow question. Invalid. I'm a survivalist, I adapt.

I spend a lot of time thinking about

Whole lot of everything. Metaphysics, Ancient History and the book series I'm going to write, soon, hopefully, the next parry combination I'll try to pull off, mowing the lawn, finding one of my cats, life, Music, Movies, the next quest in Fallout 3, how late I am in life for a romantic encounter, CO2, choosing the best steps towards my career, that Raider who kept dodging all my Radscorpion poison tipped dart gun shots (Fallout 3), how we only really matter to each other when we put ourselves into the context of a vast universe, and other stuff...

On a typical Friday night I am

Jealous of other people going on dates, and kicking myself for being so picky in who to date... but not regretting being so minded. Researching and working on many pursuits most people would find hard to understand. Fallout 3.

The most private thing I’m willing to admit here

I'm a secular humanist.

You should message me if

You are a girl who is not looking for the stereotypical emotionally and intellectually shallow modern male or if you want to chat.

I am looking for someone with similar likes and sophistication (online dating sites are the worst place to find such, I know), mature in their outlook on life and pursuits (but by no means dry and boring), and someone who is willing to try a long relationship.

p.s. I had a situation where someone on okCupid contacted me. Everything seemed legit, she had pics, a full profile, so we talked through emails and text messages. It came time to where I called her and this was "her" voicemail message: (in a deep male voice) "Hi, this is Zach, leave me a message."
Its bad enough that free dating sites are swarming with fake profiles, scams, and disproportionate female/male ratios, but add to it people who live out separate sexual/transsexual relationships on the internet, and one is forced to be skeptical of any and all contact with members. So pardon me if I throw you strange questions, I'm just trying to deduce that you are who you claim to be.
