My self-summary
I contradict myself more than anyone else ever has.
What I’m doing with my life
I'm a graphic designer and art director for a small publishing company I own part of, run another on the side, and do freelance layout and design as well. A lot of this is involved with tabletop RPG, board and card games. I'm kind of a professional nerd.

I am the poster child for "overcommitment".
I’m really good at
Overcomitting.

*cough*

Oh, all right. I'm reasonably good at graphic design, cooking, writing, and procrastinating. I'm actually kinda good at a lot of things. Being a jack of all trades can be a bit of a curse.
The first things people usually notice about me
I'll talk to anyone and everyone.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Music: I have what could be called a "music problem". Rather than list favorite bands, I'll just list the last 10 albums I acquired:

Weekend - Jinx
David Bowie - The Next Day
Miracles of Modern Science - Meems
No Age - An Object
Zola Jesus - Versions
The Besnard Lakes - Until in Excess, Imperceptible UFO
Neko Case - The Worse Things Get, The Harder I Fight, The Harder I Fight
London Grammar - If You Wait
Frankie Rose - Herein Wild
CHVRCHES - The Bones Of What You Believe
HAIM - Days Are Gone
The Field - Cupid's Head
Kanye West - Late Registration
RJD2 - More Is Than Isn't
Mazzy Star - Seasons Of Your Day

Wait. That's 15. Well, I DID say I have a music problem...

Books: Dracula, Sherlock Holmes, Focualt's Pendulum, Cryptonomicon, anything by Heinlen, Weber, Lovecraft, micro-histories...Look, I have a book problem too, ok? I also have a basement full of comics and graphic novels, and a crap-ton of games.

Food: I will try pretty much anything once, and keep eating it again if I like it.

Movies: I love film, with a special focus on sci-fi and fantasy movies, monster movies (no torture porn horror, please), and Asian cinema. My most recent cinematic obsession has probably been the movie Drive.

I am also a pretty ardent fan of fine, lowbrow and outsider art, pinup art and photography, and illustration. I'm running out of wall space in my house to be honest. I might have to start rotating things.

My tumblr name is atomicovermind, should you care to sample my tastes.
The six things I could never do without
Booze, books, technology, DC Sports, good food, games. (an un-ordered list).
On a typical Friday night I am
Out seeing a band, watching sports in a local bar, dining well in the city, or at a friend's place playing games. Those are the usual locations.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
How to put this...if you are a prude, you probably won't ultimately enjoy my company. Let's just leave it at that.

And I have a cat who hates everyone but me. If you take a cat hating you personally, be advised.
