While still a teenager I embarked on a self-styled journey that allowed me to take the less-travelled path to wisdom and spirituality. I went to various art schools in Italy and twenty years later I had my own gallery in the heart of New York City. I then started working in the film industry in various capacities and went on to sell my work to many celebrities in the entertaining business.
My early bond with nature only deepened in my adult life so the main focus of my creative work has been exploring the link between art and nature.
I've been lucky to know what I wanted to do very early but life can throw us a curveball when least expected and in recent years I went through a series of sobering events that skook my foundation and forced me to reassess what's important to me, both as an artist and as a human being.
Those who know me will say I'm a genuine person with strong beliefs and a big heart, which I believe to be true. I'm very choosy with the people I allow into my inner circle so it takes time for me to open up but when I do---I do it wholeheartedly and it means something.
I'm very imaginative and driven so I'm never without a project. I enjoy unplanned-spur of the moment adventures as much as relaxing and creating special moments with my partner.
I put great value on truthfulness so I'm a straight shooter, sometimes a bit blunt, which isn't always appreciated but as the late Gore Vidal used to say I think that "Being true to yourself is knowing what you want to say, saying it, and not giving damn".
In regards to politics I consider myself a liberal in a broad spectrum but I'm also very much in line with small town values of a more conservative nature so if I had it my way I might be living in Walnut Grove from Little House on the Prairie.
I'm happy to say I've had a very interesting life that has brought me many rewards but I believe the simple joys of life are sometimes the most important ones so my kind of fun would be swimming in the open ocean, working in the garden, or giving myself to an exiting project... designing or building something. Doing it with someone I love would turn any such moment into a postcard memory.
I treasure the beauty , the mystery, and the magic of the great outdoors which is a fountain of joy and inspiration to me.
I also enjoy horseback riding, film, stand-up comedy, music, driving the back roads, power tools, stone work, rough carpentry, architecture, interior design, home building/restoration, landscaping, camping, outdoor concerts, working the land and raising animals, country French rural antiques, folk art, bird watching, wild flowers, trawling through flea-markets and junk yards to find old or unusual things, writing, wildlife rescue, vintage cars.
