My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I like to think I'm pretty laid back. I've been told I'm the "strong, silent type" but I'm not sure how true that is. I can be kind of shy around people until I get comfortable with them, although I like to think I can get on with pretty much anyone. I seem to make people laugh so I guess that's pretty awesome.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Enjoying having just been promoted to a new job and deciding what I want to do going going forward. I'm also enjoying having recently become an uncle for the first time.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
I think I can cook pretty amazing Mexican food and my Carolina Pulled pork tends to be a hit. I can turn my hand to most other things, though I might need a practice first. I can hold a conversation and have an opinion on most things without being judgemental or opinionated and have been told I'm an excellent listener. I like to think of myself as very creative and imaginative. I also pride myself on being caring and sensitive to others.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I asked a friend about this and she said it's my aftershave, I'm not sure if that's a good thing or not.

I like to think I come across at first as friendly and approachable. I'm also told I have nice eyes.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
Books: I find I tend to go through phases of fiction and non-fiction. When I read fiction I tend towards fantasy or sci-fi or whatever random, offbeat, imaginative thing has caught my eye. If it's full of big, silly or epic ideas that make me think, I'll enjoy it. For non-fiction I mainly read history, although I occasionally do try to pick topics I don't know much about. I have a stack of books on Taoist philosophy which I started on a whim and are now some of my favourites to reread. I also am a bit of a comic book geek, I worked in a comic store for a few years and my dining room is like a mini version of the store.

TV Shows: How I Met Your Mother (probably my favourite show ever), It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia, nature or history documentaries, Dollhouse, Firefly, Better Off Ted, Adventure Time, Big Bang Theory, American Dad, Reno 911, Band Of Brothers.

Movies: Anything with Will Ferrell, Paul Rudd or Jason Segal, Leon, Watchmen, Jaws, Serenity, The Longest Day, The Fifth Element, I Love You Man, Team America: World Police, Gentleman Broncos, Super, Taken, The Cabin In The Woods. I've got a pretty wide taste when it comes to movies and generally will try watch most things, though I'm not normally big on horror movies.

Food: Tea and lots of it! Pizza and cookie dough ice cream (not at the same time). Anything vaguely Mexican, Chinese or a nice steak. That list makes me sound like I live on junk food. When I'm not eating all the lovely, fatty things I like a nice bowl of fruity muesli or a cheesy jacket potato with salad.

Music: I would class most of the music I like as either Ska, Punk or Metal but I generally find I often listen to random things I like. NoFx, Pennywise, The Descendents, System of a Down, Disturbed, Skindred, Johnathon Coulton, The Slackers, Mad Caddies, Youngblood Brass Band, Ozomatli.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
Not in any specific order (except maybe the first one).

1: Hot tea on a cold day
2: My brother
3: My friends
4: Books
5: The internet
6: Cute kittens! (6 things is a lot to think of)
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
If I should put the kettle on for a cup of tea. The answer is invariably yes.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
At the gym.

But after that I'm out for some food, hanging out with friends or sipping a tea or a whisky with a book. I'm not a major party guy, I do like to go out, just not every night. I am generally happy to be wherever my friends and family are.

One of the reasons I'm on this site is to find someone to do more fun-filled, exciting things on my Friday nights.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I can take a little while to open up to people about more personal things. If you're interested in learning more private things about me we should probably chat for a bit first.
You should message me if
Offer a few tips to help matches win you over.
The above seems interesting and you're looking to meet a nice, genuine guy. I'm here to meet new people, so if in doubt send me a message and we'll see how things go.
