Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I'm am a lifelong Austinite who works in the tech field. I enjoy
being outdoors (except July here!), sporting events, reading, golf,
trying to keep my shrubbery and plants alive, and mostly Jazz, 80s,
and R&B music...wish there was a place in this town to dance to
it! I also like quiet, too, so there...
I like to see the positive in everything, and I like to laugh and
find the absurdity in life.
It is so hard to describe yourself with almost bragging, but I do
think that my positives certainly outweigh my negatives.
I am a believer in honesty and trust in any relationship...
I guess one drawback is that I am a little shy, so I'm working on
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Moving forward and taking it day by day. I have two wonderful young
adult children who mean the world to me; I provide any guidance and
support they ask for within reason (no requests to hide bodies). As
for me, I want to do more things outside of work - travel, to see
things and places I've never seen or been to - hopefully with a
female companion. It says I am "Less Experienced in Life." WTF?
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Listening. I like hearing other folks stories; I ask alot of
questions...I enjoy good conversation and have no problem being
devil's advocate... and I am on-time, if not early...
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
Is my wry, glass half-empty style of humor. Not hatin', just
sayin'...I will tease, but not in a mean way...I like to keep it
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
Movies - Older fare such as Casablanca, The Good, The Bad, and the
Ugly, Diehard, and Glory, along with adventure/action movies on the
big screen (really the only way to appreciate those)....Oh, and
absurd stuff like Blazing Saddles and Marx Brothers movies...
Books - I enjoy those based on true stories (like historical
fiction) along with thrillers. Mysteries too - Walter Mosely is
probably my favorite author. I assume a character in the book to
see what happens to me next!
Music - R&B and some rock. I like smooth jazz as well, but if
music is GOOD, doesn't matter the genre. I enjoy it all.
Food - I am game for almost anything. I am willing to try something
off the beaten path...within reason.
TV - Major sporting events, a few comedies, and a couple of dramas,
but if anything PBS and old movies. Ken Burns could make a
documentary about the Flintstones and I'll watch.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
My kids, ice cold water, hot water, good music, no drama, and a
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
My next steps. I am trying to live in the moment. It's a new step
for me, slowing it down some...and I really don't think most folks
have it planned as they say they do. Besides, the phrase comes to
mind, "Man plans, God laughs."
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Unsure...its different every Friday. I may go out to a club for a
drink, I may stay home and read a book, I may have dinner or a
movie with my kids or with friends...It varies...
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I will cry at the end of Field of Dreams every time...Yeah, I do...

Offer a few tips to help matches win you over.
- You enjoy conversation, be it over the phone or dinner or drinks;
companionship (doing stuff!); a little laughing; a few hard
- You are someone who is honest, trusting, willing to share their
feelings and opinions. Although I prefer to avoid conflict, I will
voice my opinion without being judgmental on the other opinion;
also open to new experiences. Companionship is important and the
ability to connect and find the fun and laughter in things.
- I also understand that everyone does not share the exact same
interests, so that would be respected as well. Pursuing activities
important to you (or me) are important to keep your (or my)
individuality. Ingredients to a great relationship to me include:
Trust, Honesty, Respect, and Commitment.
- You read my profile and think, "Hey, he might be worth a
damn."...but willing to take it slow...
