I am la, di, and da!.

My Self-Summary

I could never be called a social butterfly. I much prefer having good friends over having many friends. That being said I'm not a homebody, I love trying new things. I think one of the great challenges of adulthood is keeping an open mind. It's all too easy for your opinions and tastes to solidify to the point that you can no longer change. When you can't change, you can grow and without growth life is meaningless.

What I’m doing with my life

Right now I'm taking a watercolor class and a poi spinning (fire dancing) class. I guess I don't feel like I'm going in a particular "direction", I'm just enjoying life at the moment.

I’m really good at

Procrastinating. I'll tell you more about that later.

The first things people usually notice about me

I tend to say some pretty out there things. (see above and below)

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

Books:
Clan of the Cave Bear series - Jean M Auel
Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy series - Douglas Adams
Freakonomics - Steven Levitt
Stranger in a Strange Land - Robert Heinlein
The Moral Animal - Robert Wright
The Demon Haunted World - Carl Sagan
The Lorax - Dr Seuss
Anything by Charles Panati

Movies:
I (heart) Huckabees
Return to Oz
Time Bandits
They Live

Music:
Julie London
Ella Fitzgerald
Goldfrapp
Dead Can Dance

TV (which I should really watch less of):
Monk
True Blood
Better Off Ted
Castle
Fringe
Lie To Me

Food:
Thai, Vietnamese, German, Cuban, Sushi/Hibatchi, well.. virtually anything that's edible, really, if it's prepared right.

The six things I could never do without

I couldn't live without time spent outdoors, good friends, new experiences, stimulating ideas, creative outlets and challenges. Oh and the internet. Wait, that's seven! Phooey.

I spend a lot of time thinking about

Lately healthcare reform. Generally why things are the way they are, why people behave the way they behave and what I will do once I become President of Everything.

On a typical Friday night I am

Sadly, quite bored.

The most private thing I’m willing to admit here

I'm not cool, and I know I'm not cool, and I'm for the most part comfortable with that. But when I'm with people I don't know that well, I sort of feel compelled to try to convince them otherwise, and I don't like that. I'd rather just be myself and not have to expend all that energy trying to be witty and hip.

You should message me if

You feel so inclined.
