Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I recently moved to Calgary from Toronto (don't hate me because I'm
from Onterrible!) for work, though not in oil. I love being
outside, and had already traveled to the Rockies to hike, ice
climb, and snowboard before I'd moved here. I'm looking for someone
to share my time with, whether that be in the city, out in the
middle of nowhere, or whatever else may come.
People tell me I'm intelligent, genuine, and a no-nonsense kind of
person, which is good though perhaps at times irritating to some
(who's perfect, and who can please everyone, anyway?). I often do
things based on what I happen to feel like at the moment, which
some people might call mysterious or spontaneous. Overall though,
I'm simple, and like to live simply.
I prefer deep conversations over small-talk, being outside over
lying around, and trying to find better ways of doing things over
defending why my way is right.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I work in the investment industry, and my job is to help decide on
investments that are worthy of our clients' life savings. In a
nutshell: my work is to try and turn money into more money, and to
try not to turn it into less money (because you get fired if you do
too much of that). This is more difficult (and more fun, for me at
least), than it sounds.
Outside of work, you can find me doing anything that involves some
combination of traveling, being outdoors, exercising, playing my
guitar, rock climbing, or just learning and improving.
Beyond that... I spend my time hatching plans for world domination.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Remembering a lot of information that has yet to find a practical
use in my life.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
My long hair. (Short hair is just no fun!)
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food

Too many to mention. The abridged version: an eclectic mix of lots
of stuff (except with books... It's mostly professional nonfiction
because I'm lame and uncreative).
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
My guitar, climbing chalk, books, time with friends.... And good
Oh that's five. Books twice, then?
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
...Why I spend so much time thinking. Or a lot about where I want
to travel, and what I want to do and learn over the years.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Rock climbing at the gym with my friends, or out at the bar. Maybe
taking it easy at a friend's house or out for dinner at a nice
restaurant. Or maybe... just taking a well-deserved evening off
after a long week.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
On more than one occasion, I've been in such a rush in the morning
that I've put underwear on backwards and/or inside out and gone to
work. Yes - more than one occasion, and I haven't noticed until
I've come home.
I swear it's true, you can't make this shit up.
You should message me if
Offer a few tips to help matches win you over.
You're fun, smart, have a sense of humour, and love the thought of
adventure and new things. Or if you like to be a little different
and rock the status quo.
Maybe you're just as passionate about what you do, and you want to
share your time with someone who's just as passionate and excited
about their own pursuits, too.
