I am patient, happy, and literate.

My Self-Summary

I can tell you I'm a nice guy. My friends know they can come to me when they really need help or support or just a friendly ear. I am loyal and do not break my word. I don't lie. Things are complicated enough in this world without having to deal with false and half truths. I try to respect everyone, and try to show it.

I don't take life too seriously. I am always ready to laugh and to make others laugh. I am a very easy going kind of guy. It takes a lot to ruffle my feathers. I do like to have deep meaningful discussions about the nature of the Universe and existence in general. I find that type of talk much more fulfilling than idle gossip (which I also enjoy). I will talk about anything and enjoy a healthy debate.

I'm the kind of guy that likes cartoons and science specials on the television. I also like trashy Reality shows (Big Brother first and foremost) and inane formulaic Sit Coms. Give me any type of story told on any medium and as long as the story is interesting and the characters compelling I'm into it. I'm a real sap for underdog stories. I'm a sappy romantic at heart, something my healthy cynicism hasn't crushed yet, and I'll watch a chick flick or two without too much grumbling. Most of which would be for show.

I love to learn and experience new things. I'll try any food, event, music, pastime, or hobby that is offered to me. You really never know what something is truly worth until you try it for yourself.

What I’m doing with my life

My dream calling in life is to be a published author, more specifically a Novelist. I'm currently working on a novel. It means a lot to me and is a story that I feel should be written. I hope one day I'll finish it and it will be a best seller, and by that I mean actually make me a buck or two, and maybe even make some people think about the world.

My day to day is a bit more grounded in current requirements. I am currently working towards a career in Teaching. I'm starting my Master's program at SUNY New Paltz. I am very much looking forward to.

To earn money I work part time at a local public library. I fix anything called a machine (be it computer, copier, or printer) and help troubleshoot technical issues encountered by both other staff and our patrons. This is not as exciting but I can't complain, it helps pay the bills and puts gas in my car. A job not a career.

I’m really good at

Listening. I've been told I am a good listener. I am the guy whose friends all come to him to vent at and ask advice of. Either office I perform happily making sure to preface all advice given with "This is just my opinion but...".

I am a keen conversationalist. I can talk for hours about nothing in particular if I have someone worth talking to and a bevy subjects worth talking about.

I am talented at massages. I know, it sounds creepy. But creepy or not its the truth. My first degree was in theater and you learn how to give a good platonic shoulder rub. I have been told by many a person that massage therapy would be a good occupation for me to have.

Also, I would be amiss if I did not mention my writing. This seems to indicate a swollen head on my part but I think its healthy and necessary for anyone who wants to call themselves a writer, as I so desperately do want to, to have a little bit of pride in there work. At least until they are shown they shouldn't.

The first things people usually notice about me

I am bald. I shave my head, but I do so because when I don't I sport the George Costanza or, to use a more obscure reference, Dr. Katz hair style. What I call the 'horse shoe'. Genetics held back no punches when it began to take my hair at the tender age of 18. I have come to grips with it... mostly. I do not doubt that Karma had something to do with it. Warn your children not to tease the balding and the bald.

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

Too numerous to mention! This would be something better discusses then listed I feel. I've read a good swath of things (though find myself poorly read in a few key areas), I watch a lot of movies, and am always looking for the next great watch. I like most of the music I hear and, on some level, all the food I've eaten. I could give you authors, or book titles, bands or song titles and various flavors of foods. I won't though. If I tell you everything now what will we have to talk about?

The six things I could never do without

1) Meditation 2) the Internet 3) Words (yes I know its pretentious, but that doesn't make it any less true) 4) Friends and Family (one and the same to me) 5) My Dogs. I don't care how tough or jaded you are, a small yellow lab puppy frolicking around being adorable will have you crawling on the floor talking in a falsetto like a huge sap. Exception being if you don't like dogs. 6) Thought. I know, crazy right?

I spend a lot of time thinking about

You name it, I probably have spent time contemplating it. I enjoy thinking (note: see above section). Not in a very practical sense though. Problem solving for me is just a nice application of thought, not its sole purpose. I enjoy wasting time thinking about the state of reality (what ever that means), and all those other questions that cause philosophers head aches. I don't tend to find any answers but that doesn't stop me. Against my better judgment I will also spend time thinking about completely worthless things, just for the shear pleasure of it.

On a typical Friday night I am

Friday nights are like any other night of the week for me. The only difference is that I get to sleep in. I am either hanging out with friends, watching T.V., messing around on the computer, writing/reading, or video gaming.

The most private thing I’m willing to admit here

I am a hopeless Romantic.

I once slipped on a banana peel.

You should message me if

You should message me if you want to. If I seem like the kind of person you would like to get to know better or just have a conversation with, by all means, message me.
