My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I've been described as a geek, hippie, skeptic, mad scientist, dreamer, cartoon character, and paradoxically as both a kid and a curmudgeon; or more generally as a delightfully odd man. To that I'd add that I'm a wrangler of bits, forger of photons, and dispenser of comedy and strange non sequiturs. Roboctopus.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I've been freelancing in the film world for past couple years, and am currently working on an ongoing gig for a startup. Unfortunately, this usually means I'm stuck in my editing cave, but I'm making more effort to spend time in this strange wonderful place called "outside", which is filled with many interesting folk and beckoning adventures.

I also occasionally play ridiculous villains & provide A/V tech services at a local monthly comedy show.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Making people laugh, applying the scientific method, cooking, philosophical conversation, video (shooting & editing), writing (essays, scripts, or hyperbolic monologues), drawing, and amassing and distilling information. And while I suck at chess, I will take on anyone in Tetris.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
My red beard, my somewhat less red long hair, my near complete lack of melanin, and my sense of humor.

And when I've worn my tight pinstripes, I've been told I have a nice ass.

Fair warning, this is going to be a long section....

MOVIES: The Star Wars Trilogy(before Lucas fucked with it), Dark City, City of Lost Children, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Fight Club, I Heart Huckabees, Inception, Beyond the Valley of the Dolls, Magnolia, Amelie, American Beauty, The Ice Storm, The Matrix, V for Vendetta, THX 1138, 12 Monkeys, eXistenZ, The 5th Element, Nosferatu ('20's and 70's versions), The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari, Akira (original '93 English dubbing), Ghostbusters, Lord of the Rings Trilogy, Waking Life, Goonies, Donnie Darko, Metropolis (both '26 and Anime versions), FLCL, The Mad Max series, The Road, Batman Begins, Dark Knight, The Wild Parrots of Telegraph Hill, The Highlander series, Mind Game, and anything by Kevin Smith, Harry Smith (no relation to the former), Jan Svankmeyer, David Lynch, Stanley Kubrick, Michel Gondry, Terry Gilliam, or Don Hertzfeldt.

TV: Generally speaking I believe TV is an obsolete medium. Linear time-sensitive programming with no option to block ads? No thanks, I've got the Internet. That being said, here are some of my favorite shows that came from tube land:

Firefly, The IT Crowd, Doctor Who, Star Trek (TNG & DS9 mainly), The Mighty Boosh, The Daily Show, The Colbert Report, Monty Python's Flying Circus, Father Ted, The Venture Brothers, Metalocalypse, China, IL, A Bit of Fry and Laurie, Battlestar Galactica, The Prisoner, Kids In The Hall, Upright Citizens Brigade,The Simpsons (when it was still good), Workaholics, The Boondocks, etc.

BOOKS: Since this section is already way too long, I won't make a huge list of books, but rather the authors I dig: Robert Anton Wilson, Kim Stanley Robinson, Patrick Rothfus, Grant Morrison, Neil Gaiman, Alan Moore, Warren Ellis, Frank Herbert, Douglas Adams, William Gibson, and Phillip K. Dick.

MUSIC: Hoo Boy, ready for another list? Here we go:

Radiohead, VAST, Nirvana, Eskmo, The Beatles, Coco Rosie, Smashing Pumpkins, NIN, Baths, Sun Araw, Portishead, Sneaker Pimps, Blue Scholars, Scroobius Pip, Pressed And, Lube Fondu, Harvey Danger, Beck, Stone Temple Pilots, Sound Garden, Gorillaz, Groove Armada, Wagon Christ, Massive Attack, Dan Deacon, Carbon-based Lifeforms, Shpongle, Cibo Mato, Air, Black Moth Super Rainbow, The Chemical Brothers, Cut Chemist, Cinematic Orchestra, anything touched by the hand of Danger Mouse, and all sorts of ambient and experimental music.

FOOD: I'm not vegetarian, but I do tend towards a largely vegetarian diet. I like all sorts of food with the exception of Greek and Korean. I'm down for sushi or pho, but I very particular about both.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
1. Good Friends

2. Green, natural surroundings

3. Some rich source of information (Whether it's the Internet, a library, or one of those rare books that you get something new out of every time you read it)

4. Caffiene (I keep trying to quit, and it keeps pulling me back in)

5. The essentials (food, water, clothing, shelter, yes I'm cheating this whole list thing)

6. A sense of wonder and curiosity
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Let's see if I can boil this down...

Science (conventional & weird), ecological problems & solutions, various philosophical questions, mysteries, and quandaries, stories for screenplays, potential optical fx experiments, politics, methods of altering consciousness, gaming, sex and the possibilities of tantric sex, and what the future is going to look like.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
At this point? Probably editing. But I occasionally escape the cave to go to a bar, a movie, or a show. That and D&D.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
When I was a kid I was a Super Mario freak. So much so, that I made my parents take me to the Super Mario Icecapades.

Offer a few tips to help matches win you over.
-you value sincerity and passion more than obligation

-you are a creative type, geek, nerd, burner, scientist, or golden-hearted weirdo

-you want to get to know each other over some sort of libations or a bowl of fine greenery.

-you want to wander around on an urban hike or wax philosophical into the wee hours of the morning.

Deal Breakers:

-You live outside of Seattle

-Children (Sorry, but I'm not looking to become a father figure. I'm more of the cool crazy uncle type.)

-Polyamorous (I don't have anything against poly people, but I've been the monogamous terminating branch on other people's poly trees enough times to know that it's not for me.)

-Zealots (both religious and secular)

-People who think creationism should be taught in schools

-Hate mongers: (eg. racists, homophobes, gun nuts, etc.)
