Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Greetings and salutations, my name is James, but please, call me
I'm 26, I'm a massive geek when it comes to video games, i love all
things Japan and I love comics and whatnot.
I'm overweight. I'm short, I smoke (planning on quitting next year)
I 'smoke' every now and then. I'm also tremendously shy but I'm
working on that with the help of this place and each message I
I've been seeing a lot of user say what they are on the MBTI scale,
and never one to not fill in a personality test, it turns out I'm
ISTJ.....whatever that it :P
I know I'm not exactly the dictionary definition of the ideal man
with my height and weight. But what I lack in height and
erm...don't lack in weight I make up for with my sense of humor and
my desire to be a good person.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Working and nothing else.
I work as a video game tester for a large company. I work 4 days a
week, with 4 days off, leaving me with four straight days of
sitting playing games seeing friends and browsing here.
I really want to get back to studying Japanese, but I just haven't
been able to find the motivation, I've been at the same level for
over 10 years now, I know many works, and can read a bit of the
writing, but I want to do more.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
A life of sitting in the house not having girlfriends and stuff has
left me with above average skills at video games. I know, it's
pretty sexy, but please. Contain yourselves, it's not all fun and
games, although it has given me exceptional finger strength.
I know many obscure and pointless facts about games and gaming in
general, again. Not really relevant in usual day to day life, but
it is what it is.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
Probably the fact I'm really short.
Although right now, it's probably my beard. I've been really lazy
with it, so it's overgrown, scraggly and rather annoyingly ginger
(not that gingerness is a bad thing, I'm just confused by it due to
having brown hair.)
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
Let's see. I don't do too much reading anymore, but I have several
All of Dave Gorman and Danny Wallace's books. I absolutely adore
the Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy. The Kingkiller Chronicles by
Patrick Rothfuss is a great series (cannot wait for book 3)
I have a hard time thinking of any favorite movies, I just love
films in general. Edgar Wright and Simon Pegg's Three Flavour
Cornetto trilogy is a particular favorite though.
TV is something I don't watch as much as I'd like anymore. But I do
have some favorites.
I've just watched the first series of Breaking Bad and really
enjoyed that. I love South Park, and a lot of old school British
comedy, ranging from Blackadder and Red Dwarf, to Spaced and Black
One thing that is new, is that I've just started watching Doctor
Who....and I'm loving it. (Watching as I type actually, figured it
was a good time to get into it what with a new Doctor coming and
what not (ironic actually as the episode I'm watching has a
pre-Doctor Peter Capaldi as a side character))
I'm still a bit of a kid inside, so I still watch things like
Wrestling and Power Rangers and it's Japanese equivalents.)
I love me some anime, so I watch a bit of that (although not as
much as I'd like any more)
Current favourites are Sword Art Online and Attack on Titan (Survey
Corps, Liverpool Division represent!)
Older favourites include stuff like, Cowboy Bebop, Trigun,
Dragonball, .hack//SIGN, Excel Saga, Death Note and a hell of a lot
more, I'd love to talk over this with someone if anyone's
Music well, I'll listen to pretty much damn near anything as long
as the tune is good. Although the thing I listen to the most at the
minute is Video game soundtracks, or anime themes.
As they are a really big deal to me, I'll talk a little about
I love Nintendo. In particular the Legend of Zelda series, so much
so, I have 2 Zelda tattoos.
But in general, I'll play anything to some extent. Don't really
like shooters any more, and I've never liked Tower Defence or RTS.
But I am willing to give anything a try.
Major favourites are anything Pokemon, I love the Ace Attorney
series, Kingdom Hearts, fighting games like Street Fighter. Again,
I'd love to talk games with people.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
1. Family. Probably a very generic answer, but after losing my mum
and dad last year, my brothers and sister and their families mean
everything to me right now.
2. Friends. After the last couple of years of dealing with death
and depression, I came to realize that I have some really great
friends, and I wouldn't want to lose any of them.
3. The Internet. When I'm not at work, I'm usually sat on the
computer, YouTube has gotten me out of so many miserable
4. Video Games. Pretty much my passion in life, so I really don't
know what I'd do without them.
5. My bed. I love sleep, and I've recently learned that I really
enjoy sleeping next to someone else. It really relaxed me and made
me feel...I dunno. Normal.
6. Companionship. This is a big one. I've gotten so lonely lately
that I really wish I just had someone to share my life with.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
How crappy the last couple of years of my life have been. How much
I wish I had someone to love. How much 2014 is going to be a better
year for me.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Due to my work pattern, I don't have a typical Friday night. But if
I did, it'd be sat in the house, playing games and on the internet
or occasionally seeing friends for much of the same.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
Hmmm, I don't really know, I got really drunk the first time I was
in Japan and ended up singing karaoke with random Japanese men.
