My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I’m a happy optimistic person. I enjoy my life. I try to be mindful be in the moment. I’ve got a satisfying job, good friends, I like my home, and I know who I am.

I like to try new things and have a "Why not?" attitude. I'm always up for a new restaurant, a new band, a trip to a new place (I've filled more than 1 passport),...

I’m sincere and I don’t play games, I say what I think, and I’m a pretty open, outgoing person. If there is something you want to know, just ask.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I have a job that I enjoy, but I make sure that it doesn't take over my life (I’ve been through my workaholic phase and I’m done with that). I make time for my hobbies (welding, gardening, hiking, photography, …) and for going out with friends.

I'm a Biologist. I completed my doctorate a few years ago and I'm still amazed with how nice it is to have free time! I spend time with family or friends, working on home projects, at the gym, or out enjoying Tucson.

I also like spending time outside. I like to hike, bike, walk, run, camp,...
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
- figuring stuff out
- my job
- driving on a road trip
- going with the flow
- traveling
- being an uncle
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
Books - I like mostly nonfiction. I love Malcolm Gladwell's books, Richard Dawkins, the Freakonomics books, and stuff like that.

Movies - I'm all over the place. I just really like movies. I'm happy to watch a ridiculously stupid action or comedy, but I also enjoy a well put together documentary, and everything in-between. Some all time favorites are Harold and Maude, High Fidelity, Pulp Fiction, Fight Club, The Big Lebowski, The Princess Bride, ...

TV shows - I enjoy shows that are well written like How I Met Your Mother, anything by Joss Whedon, Breaking Bad, Walking Dead, Big Bang Theory,… and of course the Daily Show!

Podcasts - This American Life, Savage Lovecast, Radiolab, Risk, The Moth, Freakonomics, ...

Music - I like to go out and see live music of any kind. If a friend thinks that it is going to be good then I'm in. I listen to everything from the classics like Led Zepplin, the Who, and the Beatles to great 80’s like Squeeze, REM, Depeche Mode, and U2 to good singer/songwriters Richard Shindell, Shawn Colvin, and Patty Griffin, and on...

Food - I really enjoy food. I eat everything. I love food that is well prepared. It doesn't have to be complex, but I really enjoy clever combinations, or novel flavors, and I'm very into spicy food!
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
1) NPR
2) Good coffee
3) Friends
4) My passport
5) My Swiss Army Knife
6) Time to play
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
What I'm working on in my lab, my current welding project, planting stuff in my yard, my fish tank, what I just heard on NPR,...
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
I could be having a drink with friends, out to see a band, a movie, working in my shop, or just crashed out on my couch watching some TV.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
It wouldn’t be very private then would it... you will have to ask me after a drink ;)
You should message me if
Offer a few tips to help matches win you over.
You read my profile and think that we might have something to talk about. I’m not looking for a long online correspondence; I’d rather meet for a drink or a cup of coffee sooner rather than later and see if we have chemistry.

I like to try new things (foods, travel, etc) if that sounds scary to you then we might not be a good fit. I also like Tucson and plan to stay here for the long haul. If that’s not for you then things might not work out so well.
