I am feisty, crafty, and silly.

My Self-Summary

What I am and want cannot be reduced into a few short trite sentences. But here is my best shot. I just moved to New York in September and I'm getting my masters degree at NYU in food studies. I love dancing, as do a lot of people, though many have not heard of blues dancing (it spawned from the swing scene). I love food, in fact it is my passion and soon to be profession, but I do not cook for a living. I want to change some part of the world, still trying to figure out how and which part. My friends tell me that they love me for my bluntness and my sarcastic wit, that can scare some people, I prefer to make them laugh and laugh at them. I have a very quirky sense of humor and tend to laugh at everything. Totally a geek, I do not game, but I know all of them, I like comic books and the movies made from them. I adore sci fi and fantasy, reading, movies, and some tv shows. Trying to get back into physical activity, I injured my knee last year and sadly those take a long time to heal and are prone to re-injury. There are so many amazing things to do and places to explore on the upper east coast, especially in New York that I just don't know where to start.

What I’m doing with my life

I'm trying to take over the world....

no actually I'm just trying to get an education in a field that I love and want to eventually teach. I'm also just trying to have fun and be happy. Trite yes, but I figure if I look for the great things in life I'll find them, if I focus on the bad then that's all I will see.

I’m really good at

being disgustingly domestic, I can cook, bake, can, pickle, sew, knit, etc. I would be the perfect farmers wife if I wasn't allergic to a good chunk of nature.

The first things people usually notice about me

my nose, my laugh, my freckles, and how short I am. Then they're blindsided by my sarcasm and ability to find the humor in so many things.

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

I love to read, good thing since I have two to three books a week to read for classes. When I'm not reading about food I like sci fi and fantasy, especially women authors like Mercedes Lackey, Laurell Hamilton, Patricia Briggs, and Kelley Armstrong. As for movies, I like a wide range, everything from comedies to zombies, and when the two come together, score. some of my favorites are: Boondock Saints, Brotherhood of the Wolf, Eat Drink Man Woman, Army of Darkness, Fight Club, Equilibrium, Some Like It Hot, Tampopo, and Dead Alive. Music wise I listen to a bunch of things, lately it's been blues mostly but I also really like goth/industrial.
Food is an obsession, can't really narrow it down much, I like so many things.

The most private thing I’m willing to admit here

I have tattoos, several in fact, but if I'm wearing normal clothes you'll never see them.

You should message me if

You have a sense of humor, and self-depreciating is amusing, I love to laugh at myself. You think that shortening words like you to u and intentional misspellings are annoying as all hell. The English language is rich and filled with amazing words, don't be lazy with it. You want to try new things; new foods, a new locale, a new type of dance, or have something fun to introduce me to.
