I am playful, thoughtful, and up for adventures.

My Self-Summary

I just moved back to the US after four years of living and working in Africa managing AIDS treatment programs. My goal is to keep life as exciting and full of new experiences as it was while I was there, and I'm looking for someone to be my partner in crimes of hilarity and mischief.

I live with two of my best friends in our dream house with a yard the size of a small park. It's our own little world and we love to share it. We just moved in and we're figuring out how to organize our ridiculous amount of tools and equipment for projects from robot-tripods for photography to screen printing t-shirts, and our mountain of kite surfing gear. We are unconventional when convention gets in the way of fun, and we tend to attract people of similar mind.

I crave new things and experiences, so I don't have a ton of routines in life. During the season (summer), if the wind is blowing I'm out on the water kite surfing. Thursday night is the night to have friends over to cook, hang out, and maybe play some games. I particularly seem to have a knack for Taboo that borders on ESP. When i moved into my last house (a warehouse converted to an awesome living space), the guys didn't have a stove in the kitchen, just a hotplate. I love to cook with and for my friends, so I converted a gas stove top to propane and installed it in a big IKEA kitchen island so we could cook for real. Now that stove is in our outdoor "bbq house." We made the best breakfast burritos out there last weekend!

I think makeup belongs on actresses and the wedding party, and I hope you do too.

Though I can certainly appreciate luxury and the finer things in life, give me a night around a campfire in Kirby Cove looking out at the Bay and the Golden Gate over a night at the Four Seasons. After five months of safari through Southern Africa, I can cook just about anything over an open fire so my friends never lack for excellent food when we're out in the woods.

Even though I don't always get around to it, I really believe in doing something that scares you every day. It's ok to be afraid of things, but you can't let fear run your life. Real adventure is being afraid but doing it anyway.

28 years of life experience unfortunately can't be squeezed into this text box. I am looking for someone to be active with, explore with, cook with, teach to kite surf, learn something exciting from, and see what else the world has to offer here in the Bay Area and beyond. Let's have a picnic and see where it goes.

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

I love to cook over a real wood fire, the only way they bbq (braai) in South Africa. Bacon is the world's most perfect food. I have been practicing Shiatsu massage for the past ten years as a hobby and I LOVE getting a great massage.

I spend a lot of time thinking about

My next adventure....

On a typical Friday night I am

Spending time with close friends, either enjoying the special places they live (e.g. cabin in the Santa Cruz mountains) or exploring someplace new. Some places I really love: anywhere with redwoods; Santa Cruz; Cape Town, RSA; Kirby Cove; 3rd Ave.; Tuolumne Meadows; the seashore; flying through the air hanging from my kite.

The most private thing I’m willing to admit here

I was adopted at birth by a family that was able to give me amazing opportunities. It makes me keenly aware of how easily my life could have turned out very differently, so I appreciate and take advantage of everything life offers to me.

You should message me if

The number one requirement for a good match with me is a positive attitude that sees the humor and excitement in life and appreciates the youthful enthusiasm and wonder at the world that I have preserved in adulthood. If you're going to be embarrassed or annoyed when I have a break-dancing competition with my 7-year-old nephew Mitch at my cousin's wedding and then we go outside to catch frogs, then we probably won't get along so well. If you do the splits in your dress and play photographer for our frog-hunt then you'll win my heart.
