-Pico Iyer, Why We Travel
After five years of studying engineering, I spent four years living and working in Africa (Zambia, Rwanda, South Africa) managing AIDS treatment programs. The highlight was working with Paul Farmer and PIH to expand their program to the entire country of Rwanda.
I love to kite surf, probably because it's the closest thing I've found to flying. It also involves being on the beach a lot, which has always been one of my favorite places to be.
My biggest adventure ever: I bought a Land Rover in South Africa, fixed it up, and drove myself 25,000 kms through 8 countries. Check out some of my best pictures: http://picasaweb.google.com/109756361865334031159
