Hi I'm Craig. I like to think of myself as confident but humble -
people I know would probably say I'm a man of few words, but I
prefer to think of it as learning a lot more about people by
listening to them! I love a great meal out but have been known to
rattle the old pots and pans when the need arises - I'm often
volunteered to do the Christmas dinner and I've poisoned less than
5 people in my life so I must be doing something right?!
Last year I passed my motorbike test and did a tour of the Alps and
Pyrenees which was mind-blowing. You could take a picture of any
part of Switzerland and happily put it on a postcard - it's just
that perfect! I have a chocolate Labrador called Wagstaff, and I
love walking him in the countryside - he's a handful most of the
time but I wouldn't change him for the world (apart from when he
runs off into the garden with the Sky remote!).
Work-wise, I enjoy my job and I take my career seriously; I will
and often do work hard when I need to, but life's about living not
working yourself into an early grave, so I always make sure the
work-life balance is in life's favour.
I've been happily single for a while now but I've recently started
to feel like there's something, or more accurately someone,
missing, so if you are down to earth, love to try new things, see
new places, and get the most out of every day, then I reckon we
might just get on like a house on fire, and not because I've
accidentally left the oven on!
What I’m doing with my life
Currently got a couple of big things on the go. I'm trying to get
much healthier and am on a big weight loss and fitness push. I'm 5
stone down and another 5 or so to go by the end of the year, and I
have a couple of army 10k runs I'm training for in the autumn as
I've also just been promoted at work and I'm throwing myself a bit
more into moving my career forward.
I’m really good at
I'm fairly good at knowing really useless things so can come in
handy at pub quizzes. I've got quite an analytical mind so can
usually figure most problems out so long as there's some logic
about them. I also like to think I'm pretty good at DIY (done a lot
of my own renovations) and can ride over mountain passes on my bike
pretty well too!
The first things people usually notice about me
I come across as pretty laid back most of the time, which can be a
blessing and a curse. It's great in things like job interviews and
big meetings, but it also means I never seem excited about
anything, even when I am!
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
I'm a fantasy novel person, so anything with a sword or a spell in
it and I'm usually happy - I like the escapism of it. I'll watch
most films, I like 'high-brow' stuff sometimes but I equally like
really bad hollywood films with a minimum of thinking involved. I
don't think there's a type of music I don't have at least one
album's worth of - I like it all, and as for food I try anything
once, though I do like a curry or a nice japanese/chinese meal.
The six things I could never do without
My family, my dog, my motorbike, my self-sufficiency, my home, and
I spend a lot of time thinking about
At the moment, my next run and what new/interesting/healthy thing
to eat next - having finally got myself into a healthier regime I'm
really starting to enjoy it a lot. I also spend a lot of time
wondering when the rain will stop so I can get out on my bike!
On a typical Friday night I am
In all honesty, at home alone watching a film/TV or going to the
gym. Almost all of my friends are coupled up or have moved away
nowadays and when I do go out socialising it tends to be during the
day or early evening - I used to do pubs/clubs every weekend but
only because my friends were into it - I've always preferred a
quiet drink in a pub or a good meal out...
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
Underneath it all I'm a secret power geek!
You should message me if
You feel like it. I don't bite!
