My self-summary
Let's start at the very beginning, a very good place to start...

My name is Brian. I've lived in NYC my entire life except for the 4 years spent in Binghamton, NY for college. I also studied abroad in London and wish I was still living there. Obviously I'll be going back there first chance I get. I'm also a proud brother of Alpha Phi Omega, a national, co-ed, community service fraternity.

I'm a true city boy at heart. I spend most of my time in Manhattan. I love walking through the city and finding something new/interesting to do. I'm obsessed with Broadway and I go see shows every chance I get.

Some other favorite passtimes of mine include photography, writing, singing, running, walking, traveling (in addition to my semester in London last year, I got to take trips through Italy and Amsterdam while abroad). I can't wait for my next opportunity to go back to Europe. I've also done some local travel more recently to Washington, DC and Annapolis, MD. Needlessly to say, I jump at any opportunity to travel/explore.

I'm looking for a guy who is passionate, interesting, and loves life. We'll get along quite well if you enjoy going to the theatre/Broadway shows as much as I do. (At my last count, I've seen 33 Broadway shows since 2006) Enjoying city life is also important (I don't mind getting away for a little while, but I tend to get restless pretty quickly cause I'm very energetic.

If you're looking for a hook-up/one night stand, keep moving. I don't do that. I'm looking to make deep and meaningful relationships as well as meet new and interesting people. I know it sounds a little cheesy but I'm kind of old-fashioned and a romantic. If I seem like someone you want to meet/chat/get a drink/see if something more can grow then simply message me.
What I’m doing with my life
Graduated in spring 2012 from Binghamton University with a BA in Theatre. Back home in NYC now figuring out my next move. Ideally, I want to pursue a career as a singer and actor. The big dream is to get my Equity card and make it on Broadway.

For my "survivor job," I work in accounting at a hospital in Midtown. It gets tedious at times, but it pays decently and allows me the time and space to figure things out.

However, I'm also thinking about joining the United States Navy. Serving others has always been an important part of my life and I'd like to take it to the next level and serve my country. If I go down that path, I'll most likely apply to Officer Candidate School in about a year. I want to take some time before I make an official decision so that I can get in better physical shape and make sure this is what I want to do. If for some reason OCS turns me down then I'll have no problem enlisting and working up through the ranks.

While I'm not sure what I'm going to do just yet, I will say that ultimately, I want to be able to look back on my life and say that I did my part to improve the world I live in.
I’m really good at
Quoting the most random lines from the most random film/TV show at the most random time imagineable

Changing up my voice. I can speak in a couple different distinct accents to a degree.

Running. It's a crucial skill to surviving in NYC, especially when you desperately need to catch a train or bus.

Singing. I'm a bari-tenor, meaning I can go back and forth between the baritone and tenor parts as the need presents itself. I recently mastered "Bring Him Home" from "Les Miserables" which requires a high F, which is quite difficult for a guy to sing.

Walking/exploring almost anywhere with minimal chances of getting lost since I'm excellent at reading maps. In fact, I got nicknamed Mr. Navigator while on spring break in Italy

Bargain hunting/comparison shopping. I even did a presentation about it once for my high school speech class
The first things people usually notice about me
I'm kind of shy when you first meet me. But once I get to know you, I'm completely at ease. The best way to tell this is by my voice.

In terms of how I look, I guess my eyes. They're green, but you can't look at them and clearly tell what shade they are (they seem to change shades depending on the light in the room).

Whether or not I'm wearing my glasses. I tend to wear contacts more often

Also that I'm too thin based on who you ask. My aunts are always convinced I don't eat enough so they take every opportunity to try and fatten me up (classic Italian family if you haven't figured it out)
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books: Harry Potter, The Outsiders, The DaVinci Code, Night, Angela's Ashes, Shakespeare, The History Boys, The Crucible

I haven't been able to do much reading for fun lately, so any recommendations are greatly appreciated.

Currently on my to-read list include "Perks of Being A Wallflower," "The Hunger Games," and "The Casual Vacancy."

Authors/Playwrights: Neil Simon, Arthur Miller, Shakespeare, Dan Brown, J.K. Rowling, Peter Shaffer

Films: DISNEY, Harry Potter, Titanic, Gone With The Wind, The Sound of Music, Schindler's List, Billy Elliot, Black Swan, The Wizard of Oz, Home Alone, A Single Man, Easy A, The Woman in Black, Anything by Mel Brooks, Musical films (Les Miserables, Mamma Mia!, Sweeney Todd, etc) and way too many more to list here

TV (my greatest weakness): The Simpsons, Family Guy, The Big Bang Theory, Doctor Who, Glee, 2 Broke Girls, Law and Order: SVU, Criminal Minds, Queer as Folk, Skins (UK edition), Scrubs, Sex and the City, Ugly Betty, The Nanny, and many more (If it's got a good plotline, hilarious as hell, or full of drama that keeps me on the edge of my seat, chances are I'll check it out)

Music: Showtunes, Lady Gaga, Celine Dion, Barbra Streisand, Billy Joel, The Beatles, Susan Boyle, Frankie Valli & The Four Seasons, almost anything from the 50s, 60s, and 70s (I'm a sucker for oldies thanks to my parents), spiritual music

Hand me a recording of any song played on the organ, and I will become entranced by it. I've noticed that when I hear organ music, all stresses in my life seem to melt away and I go to a place full of calmness, beauty and serenity. Don't know why

Food: Too many to list, but one thing is for certain. Italian and British quisine are my biggest weaknesses.
The six things I could never do without
My superb navigation skills
My singing voice
Theatre/Broadway
Slim/skinny jeans
My iPod Touch
A good pair of walking shoes

Note: I didn't list friends or family because that's a given.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
A lot of things but mainly my future and whether I will find a path and someone who will make me truly happy, accomplished, and fulfilled.

My fears. My biggest fear would probably have to be failure.

More recently, how to get those morons who clog up the MTA to use the system more efficiently thus saving me from being perpetually late for work and driving my stress to dangerous levels before I've had my morning coffee
On a typical Friday night I am
Probably at home enjoying a good film/tv show/book after a long hectic week if there isn't something interesting going on in the city.

While I occassionally enjoy some quiet time alone, I'm always down for getting together with a group of friends whether it be to go to a bar, check out something new or fun to do in the city, catch a new film or show, or simply hang out and enjoy each other's company.

I very rarely go to bars/clubs unless I'm with a group of friends because I always end up feeling too awkward if I go alone.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
When I'm running late for something or just in a plain hurry, I play the "Benny Hill" theme (Yakety Sax) on my iPod. Trust me, it provides great motivation when I'm running to catch a train and starting to lose my breath/slow down

I sometimes sleep with a plush Snoopy my best friend gave me for Christmas back in 2010. I had always wanted my own Snoopy since I was a kid.
I’m looking for
  • Guys who like guys
  • Ages 20–27
  • Near me
  • For new friends, long-term dating, short-term dating
You should message me if
You have more to say other than, "Hi, how you doing?" If you can get some sort of dialogue flowing it will work in your favor.

If you're as obsessed as I am about Broadway or theatre in general, or into random geeky things such as not expecting the Spanish Inquisition for instance, major bonus points!

You reside in Metro NYC or can get to the city fairly easily.

You think I'm interesting, cute, attractive, someone you want to get to know, some combination of the above...

Seriously, what do you have to lose? You never know...
