My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I'm Sam, I live in Brooklyn, and I'm looking for a partner in crime. I'd like to find someone to get serious with. But also, like, no pressure, you know? If we click then we click and let's have fun with it. If we don't, let's not waste our time. I feel like that's fair.

I'm really into entertainment/pop culture - especially music and television - we live in a golden age of TV, am I right?? I'm also really into not taking life too seriously - a good sense of humor is a must. I try to make light of almost everything. Not to say I don't get serious or emotional at times but mostly I'd rather be laughing. I really want to do more exploring in New York and especially in Brooklyn.

I love brunch, yoga, going to see live music, and spending time outside when the weather is nice. I did my first half marathon in the fall and gearing up to train for my second, so I guess I'm a runner now too. I also sometimes like to play guitar and sing songs (not always at the same time). I'm kind of a social chameleon. When I leave my house, I like to be fully prepared for any direction that my day might take me.

I'm a "guy's girl" - meaning most of my close friends are dudes, I get along super well with men, and I like to try to run with the pack. If this weirds you out, then you probably won't get me.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I'm an intellectual property lawyer at a large firm in Midtown. Ultimately I'd like to work in the media and entertainment industry. I like to be around creative people.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Child's pose

Picking favorites gives me anxiety (I'm working on it) but here are some wordy thoughts about things I like:

Books- I will read pretty much anything but I really love fiction, and especially fantasy/sci-fi and historical fiction. But I think a lot of contemporary stuff is great too. Recent reads include the Game of Thrones books (twice now), Infinite Jest, Jonathan Strange & Mr. Norell, House of Leaves.

TV- I watch a lot of it and get pretty bingey on whatever's hot at the moment but a few of my top favorites are Game of Thrones, Battlestar Galactica, Arrested Development, Breaking Bad, Mad Men, etc. I recently got into Twin Peaks, what a wacky show! I am also not ashamed to admit that I'm a little obsessed with Scandal. I strongly dislike: Two and a Half Men (obviously), That 70s Show, and The Big Bang Theory. Also not really into reality tv or sports.

Movies- I like movies that evoke an emotional reaction. Not a fan of being scared or grossed out; I do like to laugh and cry. I guess I like "indie" movies a lot. This year's Oscar nominees that I saw will give you a sense of my movie tastes: Boyhood, Birdman, Grand Budapest Hotel

Music- I'm into almost all kinds of music but especially indie/alt rock and folk rock and that kind of like chill alternative electronic music that I'm not sure how to classify. Some favorites include Bon Iver, the Arcade Fire, Jack White, Disclosure, etc... The Shins didn't change my life, but the Garden State soundtrack did. And I love being introduced to new music. I'll listen to anything at least once. Lately I've been really into this: And I'm super into Governors Ball!

Food- I love food! All of it. Let's eat.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
Food, water, the internet. Other humans (ones I like, preferably). Maybe a blanket or a sweater. Also probably underwear. A toothbrush? Toilet paper???

I think this question is a little silly.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Whether I should exercise or binge watch tv tonight
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
happy that it's Friday. Otherwise, it varies.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit

When I was about 12, my two best friends and I used to choreograph and perform dances to pop songs. Our premiere was a dance to Britney's "Hit Me Baby One More Time" at a bat mitzvah; we also later did one to N'Sync's "Bye Bye Bye" at a school fashion show. I don't actually find this to be THAT embarrassing. No shame.

I still like Mumford & Sons and frankly I still like Coldplay too.

I didn't know how to work a record player until relatively recently.
You should message me if
Offer a few tips to help matches win you over.
If you have a nerd somewhere inside you; if you love food (especially brunch); if you have an inappropriate sense of humor; and if you can challenge me and teach me new things. And it would be nice if you were a thoughtful, caring, non-flaky person, looking for a relationship that could become serious.

Ideally, you should live in Brooklyn or lower Manhattan (I'm almost guaranteed to not respond if you live entirely outside of NYC).
