My self-summary
Greetings Internet OKCupid traveler! My name is Brian - I'm a UCF Rosen grad, an events planner, a nerd, and many other things.

UPDATE - 11/1/2012 - Moved to Seattle, so yeah, that's new.

The following phrase? Sentence? is just my basic summary motto, so if you really decide you can't identify with some/all of it, go no further, as naught but woe awaits you.

"Eat more waffles, play more D&D, Listen to more Jimmy Buffett"
there it is, my blurb.

I do a fair amount of gaming, tabletop, videogame, and the like, so you should probably like (or at least not loathe) that particular passtime. it's a part of who I am/what I do, and I know I wouldn't want to spend time with someone with whom that would make me a pariah.

I grew up in South Florida, so I'm a secret fan of things like quiet beaches, fishing, and other boat/water related activities. I generally spend my birthday every year in Key West with my friends, getting into a little more trouble than we probably should.... with the recent move that is less likely to happen.
What I’m doing with my life
JOBS, I have found many of them, Seattle has gifted me with 2! One as a CMA for Wyndham resorts, one as a Professional Pet sitter, which is more just for fun. I'm a big dog person. (Which is to say I like dogs, and I enjoy big dogs, especially my Alaskan Malamute Keeko)

before the move I also did on site events management of a local Orlando Burlesque Troupe, Skill focus: Burlesque - Nerdy themed burlesque. We have shows about once a month in Orlando, it's lots of fun and you should track us down on FB or at Skillfocusburlesque.com /plug

My not quite full time job: Events lead for Wizards of the Coast: So the company that publishes Dungeons and Dragons pays me a fair amount of money to go to Conventions all over the country to help manage their convention booth. I get free rides to PAX, GenCon, ComicCons, etc...

I'm technically a cast member for the Rich Weirdoes Rocky Horror Picture show in Orlando FL at Universal studios. Now I am the stage manager for Vicarious Theater Company, the local cast.
I’m really good at
Throwing parties, some video games, relaxing, libation creation. Waffles and other breakfast concoctions.

I am particularly verbose, and my syntax is nonstandard as an understatement.

I'm a fantastic host, and only recently disbanded my faux small events co. - Eldeen Johnson's and the Three Winds Adventuring Company, Maybe you heard of us? nah.
The first things people usually notice about me
Physically? I couldn't tell you, I'm tragically average in that department. Likely the red beard, when it is present. (Ya-har, incidentally)

Socially? I have a wonderfully unique Syntax, and it often takes people by surprise. I have been told people don't believe stories of the way I speak. So that's nifty.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
These things rotate as new things come out, currently watching Dexter, Big Bang. I'm a huge fan of Burn Notice, Once upon a time, Scrubs, South Park, Archer, Dr. Who, Community and others. I have a Secret obsession with RuPaul's drag race, because it's the only reality-contest show that I find ludicrous enough to be acceptable. (also it's a side effect of living with a middle aged gay man for a year)

Listening to a lot of the radio, classic rock, musicals (also all the Forbidden Broadway ever, so hilarious). My taste is music is pretty much a "yes", my playlists will contain anything from Lordi to Luda, and everything in between.

Books I generally just keep up with the expanded lore novels of the various games I play (CUZ I ARE TEH NERDS) Although my Favorite author is Diane Duane (check her out if you like Harry Potter, because she more or less wrote the best Kid-Wizards book series ever, circa 1990s)

I am adding a games/gaming section, because I feel it appropriate
gaming: Neverwinter Beta is up and running, woo! Borderlands! Some Tera. League of Legends, Rogue Trader. Mass Effect. Heavy Rain. Many many others, those are just the first ones off the top of my head.
I also have gotten back into MtG recently, as a result of WotC giving me piles and piles of free product.
The six things I could never do without
Friends,
Internet,
Contact (Social, Mental, Physical)
My Glasses
Goals
Keeko, my Malamute
I spend a lot of time thinking about
How to best improve my lot in life, how to turn my WotC gig into a full time deal.

Why this bedroom doesn't have a closet. (Really, it is very frustrating)

Also, I'd kinda like to meet someone who genuinely is cool with the nerdiness and eccentricities, and possesses a set of their own, hopefully that matches.
On a typical Friday night I am
probably Working, ugh. Alternatively I'm hanging out with people, or just lounging at home with the mutt and my games.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
That wouldn't be a very private thing would it? Although I'll refer to the above admission to my taste for Drag Race.
I’m looking for
  • Girls who like guys
  • Ages 18–37
  • Near me
  • Who are single
  • For new friends, long-term dating, short-term dating, activity partners
You should message me if
You're a gal/gent who enjoys someone who is eloquent, dashing, eclectic, nerdy, and fairly genuine. I am certainly looking for new friends, but someone to be in a real relationship with would certainly not suck.

Or if you would like to contest any of beliefs for some random reason, you may also feel free. I enjoy a good debate that has no purpose other than its own sake.

Or if you just want to go do something fun for the sake of itself. I enjoy random adventures with new folks.

and please be a dog person. I have a 100lb mountain of fluff at home, and you've got to be ok with that.
