My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I just moved to Portland and would love to meet folks - especially if you like taking people hiking or playing tour guide! Say hi!

I try to be a good, generous and friendly person. Kindness matters to me, but I could hold my own in a sarcasm-off if I had to. I love the work I do, laugh easily, and I use the word y'all unironically. I'm exploring non-violence, which has been a bigger challenge than I initally expected - especially when it comes to movies and TV. I tested INFJ a long time ago, but I can't for the life of me remember what any of that means. I sing some mean Elvis karaoke.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I am a fundraiser, and I just got a job working with a non-profit that serves low-income migrant families. Totally dig it. Personally? Learning yoga, finally learning how to cook, and exploring my new home. Profligacy is fun too!
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Rolling my eyes at people who take themselves too seriously. Conversation. Back rubs. Swearing in other languages.

I'm also a very empathetic person. Sometimes it freaks people out a little bit; every once in a while it freaks me out. It runs in the family.
The first things people usually notice about me

I am very tall.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
Books: The House at Pooh Corner, Sophie's World, The Sea The Sea, Life, Inc., Temple of My Familiar.

Movies: Showgirls, Waking the Dead, Wit, Kairo, Airplane, Clue, The Brain That Couldn't Die, Drop Dead Gorgeous, Death Becomes Her, Dangerous Liaisons, Krystof Kieslowski's Bleu, Blanc and Rouge.

Shows: I have an unhealthy obsession with MST3K. If you think that show is funny, then we should hang out.

Music: Mozart operas, Bizet, Arvo Pärt, Janelle Monáe, almost all yé-yé pop, Sneaky Sound System, Dragonette. Hank Williams III makes me rowdy and makes me miss Texas. Dar Williams or Joni Mitchell when I am feeling moody.

It's funny how this box doesn't have a place for "Art", but i am really growing to appreciate ballet and modern dance.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
Meaningful work
Comedy - either stand up or goofy TV/movies
Feminism
A comfy place to get my 8 hours
Tunes to sing along to
The farmer's market
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
How much I want to get a dog. Whether or not I should be getting more work done. How to better relate to people whose perspectives I don't understand.

I am also paying more and more attention to our cultural habit of hypersexualization and objectification. That's why I don't ever "rate" people on OKC. It feels offensive... and we have enough of that crap to deal with as it is. Lets just talk to each other instead, you know?
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Meal or drinks with friends, or at home watching something goofy on netflix so my brain can cool off. Sometimes I like to end the week with some super relaxy yoga time.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
Sometimes I think that sex isn't meant to be like it's depicted in movies/TV/porn/young adult vampire fiction... but we've all just forgotten.

you feel like it! I love meeting new people, and I'm down to try new things. If you want a hiking buddy, want to hit a museum or something else like that, definitely give me a shout!
