My self-summary
Beginning these things is always awkward, but so am I, so I guess that works.

I love movies, reading, the outdoors, and eating--especially eating...like, a lot.
I'm a fairly shy guy, but I can be outgoing when I feel comfortable. I like going out and having a good time, but also enjoy myself just as much (if not more) when I'm sitting at home with a good book or movie.

I think it's great to be able to have long drawn-out talks about beliefs and opinions--I love those--but I prefer to have a conversation rather than a debate. In fact, "conversation" might just be one of my favorite words. A conversation is like a sort of tricky improvised dance (isn't it?), which can sometimes end up being really great and other times just go in circles.

Dancing's a different story. I'm an awful dancer.
What I’m doing with my life
Currently teaching English at a community college and will soon start applying to PhD programs.

Just trying to enjoy life and do as little harm in the world as possible.
I’m really good at
In spite of what this profile might suggest, I'm actually fairly good at writing and I love helping other people become better writers. I like listening and think I'm pretty good at it...but maybe I've just never heard anybody tell me that I don't do it that well.

Also, I'm really good at guessing who the villains are in British detective/police dramas, though not the American ones. Weird.
