My self-summary
Three times a day, minimum.
Hi! I'm upbeat, intelligent, funny and warm. I love to meet people, and enjoy striking up conversations with whomever, whenever, and wherever, usually. I choose friends who are nice, intelligent, and have integrity, and in that order. However, only the ones with integrity stick. My favorite band is The Band.

What I’m doing with my life
I'm pretty much focused on my son who's 11. I volunteer in his class to tutor math. He lives with his mom locally. She and I have been separated for about eight years and are amicable, yay! I'm a job seeker again. High tech mfg. I like meeting people and freedom and flexibility. And I like fixing things.
I’m really good at
Listening. Engaging in meandering dialog. Maybe not really good, but I enjoy telling jokes. I like to fix cars, houses, electronics, and stuff but I can't seem to fix people.
The first things people usually notice about me
Varies... Some people find me too intense, on the other hand I've been told if I were any more laid back I'd be dead. She apologized right away, but I figured I better pick up my game a bit, eh?
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Still love Hesse after all these years... Currently enjoying The Way West by A.B. Guthrie Jr. A Pulitzer prize winner. The book was written in 1949 in hundred year old English, beautiful! Love Twain, and yes, I still love Poe.

Movies, I have two faves, "Brother From Another Planet," and, "King of Hearts." Just saw, "Fishbone," [OK, Oops, the film is called, "Everyday Sunshine."] last night and it was FANTASTIC!!! I watch a lot of movies with my son and I try not to cry especially if it's a cartoon movie.

Music. Wow. Rock, Blues, Reggae, Ska, Bluegrass, geez... I play several instruments, but not in public...

Food... I love to cook. Just recently cooked, of note, a NY style cheesecake, Banana bread w pecans, a cherry pie with lattice crust, and turkey and Swill [Oops! Make mine with Swiss, please...] omelets. If the omelets had had avocado on them with salsa and sour cream they would have been my signature dish(!) I love eating out, carts, funky value ethnic, and fine dining too.
The six things I could never do without
1) My cell phone. Go ahead and laugh, when was the last time you lost yours, on a working vacation?!
2) My son. OK, he should be number one, eh? Guess I need to reset, and not take him for granted. He is basically always there. I didn't say I needed my right hip, did I?
3) My family and friends. Do they count as one thing? The line is so blurred between blood and chosen as to be rendered meaningless.
4) Access to the Internet, otherwise I wouldn't be about to connect with you!
5) My car, Princess. Hey, she's got a white convertible top and white leather seats, fancy wheels, and how much attention does she demand?! Do you know the song by the Bottle Rockets, "Thousand Dollar Car"? News Flash!: while I still love Princess, she is currently out of order. Bert has stepped up, a spry black Acura two door preparing to reach 200K... He jumps! He is probably my 39th car. I love cars. I'm waiting for my fourth Porsche. Oh, motorcycles too... No! Not Harleys! BMWs! Sill! Do you know what an R75/5 is? In Oxblood red?
6) My sense of humor. Go ahead and laugh, Hey! wait till I finish the joke...
I spend a lot of time thinking about
What I'm going to be when I grow up. I'm leaning towards a career as a black Buddhist bass player. I'm trying to not waste so many cycles being judgmental. I practice while driving. I'm not doing so well at this...
On a typical Friday night I am
Going out to dinner and the movies, or staying in and cooking for family and maybe a movie or project or game with them. Chess with my son, he's awesome and I really need to pay attention, and he's only 11! Yow!
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
Will not be admitted here, f'sure!
I’m looking for
  • Everybody
  • Ages 44–59
  • Near me
  • For new friends, long-term dating, activity partners
You should message me if
You're kind, intelligent, have integrity, and are attractive. I know, I know... It's very, very subjective. But it's important to me that you consider yourself attractive. I'm really serious about the new friends thing!

Sometimes I don't... speak right...
At least I know what I'm talking about...

We don't have to play with each other's genitals right off, how about conversation..., slap fight? Pool, or even ping pong? Darts are good, and with a pint!
