My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I suppose I should probably begin with, yes, I am in an open relationship. Something I never thought I'd do as I've been looking for monogamy for a very long time. But, as it turns out, most women I have encountered on here are either afraid of commitment, flake out, are confused and don't know what they want, or are just incredibly judgmental. With open/poly people that doesn't seem to be the case. I've found that circle to be very honest, direct, and generally a lot easier to get along with. So I managed to find a great girl and we're practically best friends, but she's in an open marriage so that can only go so far. I'd like to find my own primary partner who I can have just as much fun and build something with. Of course, I don't mean to say that I want to dive right into something. But that is my objective and I just want that to be clear :)

Some facts about me:
I don't care about sports. I just don't. Sorry!
I'm a geek. This should be quite evident. Not sorry!
I'm a believer in common courtesy (I WILL reply to your message).
I studied film at GSU.
Yes, I have a job. Sadly, it has nothing to do with film.
I've lost a LOT of weight, but still in the slightly overweight category. If this is a deal breaker for you, by all means get over yourself :D

What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
One of the most important changes in my life recently has been losing a considerable amount of weight. In one year's time I was able to lose a total of 80 pounds purely by running and changing up my diet with the help of MyFitnessPal. I've slipped up a little, having gained about 15 of that back, but I'm getting back on track and determined to lose that by the end of the year if not sooner.

Something else I feel I should note is that while I'm determined to get into shape, I'm not an asshole about it. I've noticed a lot of people on here have a superiority complex when it comes to staying in shape and I will NEVER be that person. People who are athletic/fit should be encouraging to others, not discouraging. The latter just sets a bad example. So I'm always more than happy to offer any advice should you be looking for support!
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Messaging "friendly" people who never want to talk. Oh yes. I'm the master of that one ;P

Also sarcasm.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
That would definitely be the weight loss. Friends have often asked where the rest of me went.

I also tend to use emoticons and tag on a "lol" or "haha" at the end of things when I'm being lighthearted. Sometimes I do it without realizing as one friend pointed out once, reading my texts where it was pretty much every time (since then I cut it down a bit). No apologies if that bothers you, it's just a part of who I am :)
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food

I admit I don't read as often as I'd like, but I do have a few favorites. I've always been a fan of Michael Crichton, particularly Jurassic Park (so different from the movie). I'm also a fan of Sherlock Holmes. Right now I'm trying to get through the Song of Ice and Fire series but I'm still on A Game of Thrones. I collect graphic novels on occasion.

Oh where to begin... If I made a list it would go on too long. My favorites would have to be comic book adapted movies and sci-fi/fantasy. I'm also a fan of shows, although I feel the need to point out that just because I like a lot of shows doesn't mean I dedicate myself to sitting in front of the big screen. I really hate that stereotype.

Also, if all you list here is CW shows and Duck Dynasty, or make the snooty "I don't even own a TV" remark, then we are not going to get along.

etc, etc, etc... I'm also a fan of theater and LOVE Hamlet!

I admit I'm "strange" when it comes to music. I don't listen for the sake of connecting to the lyrics on a personal level and finding any special meaning. I just listen because it sounds good. 99% of the time I couldn't even tell you what a song is about! With that being said, I tend to mostly like classic rock. Some heavy metal (like Metallica, Static-X, Rammstein, etc). But I really like instrumental music, particularly from movie/TV/video game soundtracks.

The hardest part of losing weight is giving up so many wonderful things. When I'd be really bad, pizza and Chinese food would be at the top of the list. Now if I indulge on occasion I might get a chicken quesadilla, sushi, or chicken tenders from Publix (oh dear god).

But I generally watch what I eat and track it with MyFitnessPal. That food selection is rather boring.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
1) Friends
2) Honesty
3) Dragon*Con
4) Film
5) Batman
6) MyFitnessPal
7) Breaking the rules o_O
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
When is Yellowstone going to erupt.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Rejoicing that the work week is over with whatever happens to come up. Be it going out or staying in.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit

This section is misread far too often. The way I interpret it is like this: Say that you're asked to make a donation to something. Hopefully you don't flip out and think you're being asked to empty your bank account. This section is not asking you to divulge your deepest darkest secrets. It's just asking for a morsel of info you'd be willing to share that others don't typically know. That's it.

So, that being said, here is something about me that I'm willing to reveal about myself because it's best to just get it out of the way:
I had to move back home not too long ago. It's temporary while I'm getting back on my feet. Student loans are looming over me so it's nice to build a financial cushion for when I move back out. Sometimes taking a step backward is necessary before moving forward again.

If this bothers you, that's perfectly fine and understandable. And I wish you all the best :)

you've been to Narnia?

You may message me for whatever reason you wish. I'm not going to be a child and set ultimatums. All I ask is that you start a conversation off with more than "hey/how are you?" because that kind of intro doesn't go too far.

I most certainly won't ignore you, which happens far too often on here and goes to show you why those types of people are here to begin with. Common courtesy goes a long way.

PS: I swear to god, if you quote The Pina Colada Song... just quit. Just delete your profile and cry in a corner. You're not original. That line is SO overused!!! /endrant
