My self-summary
I've noticed a trend on here of people listing off a string of sugar-coated adjectives to give the appearance that they're a good person. However, like 99% of the time, when they're approached they turn out NOT to be the super positive and friendly person they just described. Kinda makes you wonder how they ended up on this site, yah know? :P

Suffice it to say, I am NOT like that. I look for people with common interests. You'll find out about that below. If you'd like to talk, I am totally down. And I frakkin' mean that, no bs :)

Some highlights...
- I don't care about sports. I just don't. Sorry!
- I'm a geek. This should be quite evident. Not sorry!
- I studied film at GSU
- I've lost a LOT of weight
- Yes, I have a job
What I’m doing with my life
I lost about 80 pounds in just a little over a year by running and changing up my diet with the help of MyFitnessPal. It was really that simple. I'd be more than happy to offer any advice should you be looking for encouragement!

It's kinda ridiculous that I even need to say this, but I'm not an asshole about fitness. I've noticed a lot of people on here have a superiority complex when it comes to staying in shape and I will NEVER be that person. Those who are like that really need to get over themselves. People who are athletic/fit should be encouraging, not discouraging. The latter just sets a bad example.
I’m really good at
Final Cut Pro
Spelling and grammar (a rarity on here it seems!)
Weight loss
Geeking out
The first things people usually notice about me
That would definitely be the weight loss. Friends have often asked where the rest of me went :P

I also tend to use emoticons and tag on a "lol" or "haha" at the end of things when I'm being lighthearted. Sometimes I do it without realizing as one friend pointed out once, reading my texts where it was pretty much every time (since then I cut it down a bit). No apologies if that bothers you, it's just a part of who I am :)
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
I admit I don't read as often as I'd like, but I do have a few favorites. I've always been a fan of Michael Crichton, particularly Jurassic Park (so different from the movie). I'm also a fan of Sherlock Holmes. Right now I'm trying to get through the Song of Ice and Fire series but I'm still on A Game of Thrones. I collect graphic novels on occasion.

Oh where to begin... If I made a list it would go on too long. My favorites would have to be comic book adapted movies and sci-fi/fantasy. I'm also a fan of shows, although I feel the need to point out that just because I like a lot of shows doesn't mean I dedicate myself to sitting in front of the big screen. I really hate that stereotype.

Also, if all you list here is CW shows and Duck Dynasty, or make the snooty "I don't even own a TV" remark, then we are not going to get along.

> Battlestar Galactica
> Star Trek/TNG/DS9
> Stargate SG-1/Atlantis
> Game of Thrones
> The Walking Dead
> Breaking Bad
> Buffy the Vampire Slayer
> Firefly

> Arrested Development
> Doctor Who (if the username didn't give that away)
> Sherlock
> House of Cards
> Parks & Recreation
> Community
> Mystery Science Theater 3000

etc, etc, etc... I'm also a fan of theater and LOVE Hamlet!

I admit I'm "strange" when it comes to music. I don't listen for the sake of connecting to the lyrics on a personal level and finding any special meaning. I just listen because it sounds good. 99% of the time I couldn't even tell you what a song is about! With that being said, I tend to mostly like classic rock. Some heavy metal (like Metallica, Static-X, Rammstein, etc). But I really like instrumental music, particularly from movie/TV/video game soundtracks.

The hardest part of losing weight is giving up so many wonderful things. When I'd be really bad pizza and Chinese food would be at the top of the list. Now if I indulge on occasion I might get a chicken quesadilla, sushi, or chicken tenders from Publix (oh dear god).

But I generally watch what I eat and track it with MyFitnessPal. That food selection is rather boring.
The six things I could never do without
1) Friends
2) Honesty
3) Dragon*Con
4) Film
5) Batman
6) MyFitnessPal
7) Breaking the rules o_O
I spend a lot of time thinking about
The future. But not my future. Just the future in general. Given our technological progress in the past 100 years I can only imagine where we'll be in another 100+. I also think it's amazing that 1,000 years from now (assuming we survive that long) people will have a fully documented account of what life was like as far back as the 20th century thanks to a plethora of video and audio records...
Yeah, stuff like that crosses my mind on occasion :P

The most private thing I’m willing to admit
It amuses me how often this section is misread. If you're asked how much money you'd be willing to donate to a cause I would hope you don't flip out and think you're being asked to empty your bank account. This section is not asking you to divulge your deepest darkest secrets. It's just asking for a morsel of info you'd be willing to share. That's it. It honestly bugs me when people go "nice try!" or something to that effect.

So, that being said, here is something about me that I'm willing to reveal about myself because it's best to just get it out of the way:
I had to move back home not too long ago. It's temporary for sure, I'm just getting back on my feet. I'm building up money to pay off student loans as well as have a nice cushion for when I move back out. Sometimes taking a step backward is necessary before moving forward again.

If this bothers you, that's perfectly fine and understandable. And I wish you all the best :)

I don't serial date and prefer to avoid those who do
I'm not religious at all but have my own thoughts/beliefs
We need to have geeky interests in common
