Hi there! :) What to say about myself? Well, I am an optimistic, enthusiastic person with a wide array of passions.
I have a sarcastic sense of humour, intertwined with a heavy interest in philosophy and art of all kinds. I have a bachelors degree in Creative Writing. If you think makes me sound intellectual, you would be mistaken.

I'm a good guy, I think, looking for friendship and more. Alot of my good friends left Derby after Uni ended and this has left me thin on the ground when it comes to allies. I'm looking for that great romance that I have never experienced, something Hollywood-esque, not that I am so naive that I believe such a thing can exist. Can it?

I am thoughtful, artistic, and enthusiastic

For a day job I work with disabled children and adults in the community and residential care homes, a profession I acquired after going to a summer camp in California for four months in 2006. This has left me with a persistant and untreatable case of wanderlust. :P

Right now I'm engaged in a mission, a quest, a crusade! I decided I wanted a challenge, so over the summer of 11, I'm walking from Lands End to John O'Groates for charity. Yes I'm mental. See you on the other side! :D

UPDATE! I walked 580 miles before running out of money. This was from Lands End to Middeton-in-Teesdale! I'm pretty happy with what I achieved, though it'd have been nice to make it to Scotland. I was only 60 miles short ;)

I'm a writer in ambition, though have yet to breakthrough. I believe I'm pretty good, though not great, still struggling to escape mediocrity. I'm a prolific reader, delving into new worlds and winning characters at every opportunity. I enjoy drawing and illistration though again, I'm not great, its more of an enjoyment thing, though at photography I feel I have a real eye.

I'm a big man with a big smile. I think that's what people may notice first. I tend to keep very little hidden, I'm fairly open about things, wear my heart of my sleeve. My friends are very much amused at my soppyness, but I just can't help it. ;)

My favourite books is To Kill Mockingbird by Harper Lee, an amazingly multilayered book, one with real heart and a moral core. I love it. As well as this, I'm a big Stephen King junkie, a fan of JK Rowlings Potter books, Cormac McCarthy's The Road, Jeffrey Deaver's Lincoln Rhyme series, The Lovely Bones, by Alice Sebold, Bill Bryson, Danny Wallace and Steig Larsson's Millennium Trilogy.
As for movies, well my top film of all time is Donnie Darko. I love it so much, I have a tattoo of it. As well as this, well Memento, Star Wars, LOTRs, Indiana Jones, Back to the Future, the Bourne Films, Shawshank Redemption, Let the Right One In, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Into the Wild... to name just a few of many.
I'm a bit of a rock fan. Punk, metal, indie, that sort of thing. My absolute favourite band is a ska-punk group from Florida, called Less Than Jake. I'm also a fan of Sigur Ros, Killswitch Engage, System of a Down, Say Anything, Alkaline Trio, Moby.
And TV, well The Wire is the best TV show ever made. Watch it. Its brilliant. Also see; Buffy, The West Wing, The Shield, Deadwood, Carnivale, Extras, Dollhouse, Breaking Bad, Sons of Anarchy, Battlestar Galactica...

Oxygen, Water, Food, Shelter, Companionship, Hope ;)

The nature of existence, the fallacy of civilisation, the tempremental and ultimately fragile state of life. All pretencious things like this, which swim around my mind. I think alot about farway places, about distant lands, real and imagined. I dream of adventure most of all, I think.

Probably working, knowing me. I work alot of evenings. If I'm off, I'd most likely be at home, hanging out with my housemates, or out and about, maybe at the cinema, or the Friary pub. I'm sure I'd find something to do. :)

I'm a bit of an oddball, all things considered. :P
Its a running joke among my friends about my near bi-polar nature. That I can swing, often wildly between ridiculously enthused, happy, giggly, smiling, bouncing, maniacal glee and dour, unprecidented, drepression and dread. There is no middle ground, I'm either one of the other.
