My self-summary
Hi!

My name is Adé. I have lived in Chicago for a little over a year and a half now, by the way of North Carolina. I am a southern boy (without the thick accent, but every now and then the twang does comes out) and I pride myself on being a true gentleman. Don't know what that means? Let me show you!

I'm from the mountains, so I love the outdoors and a good adventure. Want to go hiking?

I have a thing for Chuck Taylors, and I dislike socks. It might be the best combination for summertime!

Although I have fairly visible tattoos (nothing that a dress shirt wouldn't cover up), I really don't like showing them off. Oddly enough, I have always felt like they are a very personal part of me. I just really dislike people I've never met petting my arms in public. Believe it or not, it happens. A lot. Lol.

I can be a little shy a first, but I'm a total extrovert, if that makes any sense. If I message you, I've probably viewed your profile 10 times to try and work up the courage. I'm bad at this online dating thing.

I'm very interested in stereotypes. What one do you fit? I fit the classic black stereotype of not being able to swim. I've had many people try and teach me, but it has never worked. I do love watersports...as long as life vests are available! Go figure.
What I’m doing with my life
Being a twenty-something, right? I am a designer (a gainfully employed one) and I love it. I primarily work with typography.
I’m really good at
...Being creative (I think)! That's what I do for a living, so I try and inject it into all parts of my life.

...Waking up RIGHT before my alarm.

...Using ellipses when it's not even necessary...
The first things people usually notice about me
I'm pretty sure most people would say my arms. I have "one or more BIG tattoos."
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books: I like to read. It helps me with the awkwardness of people on the bus. I'm currently being consumed by the Song of Fire and Ice series (Game of Thrones). I am also a big fan of books about social behavior and the way we as humans think. I love the Gladwell books and others like them.

Movies: I like a lot of corny movies... Forrest Gump, Remember the Titans, The Green Mile... Can't help it.

Shows: I am not a huge fan of many tv series. A few of my favorites are Law and Order SVU, American Pickers, Game of Thrones and True Detective!

Music: I will literally listen to just about anything. I just respect music and the skill it takes to put together an album. My music likes range from 2pac to John Mayer. Odd, I know. Most recently, I have fallen in love with Blues. Gary Clark Jr, Jonny Lang, Buddy Guy...so many good ones!

Food: I was born and raised in the south so I have a lot of things I consider "comfort food." Most of them are not healthy at all. I am now trying to eat healthier, so I try to limit the bad stuff to special occasions. I am not very picky when it comes to food (other than not eating red meat), as I am willing to try most things at least once.
The six things I could never do without
There's not much I honestly couldn't do without. I would like to say "my phone" but have you ever left phone at home and realized how liberating it is? For the sake of this question I'd have to say:

1. Laughter
2. My sketchbook, pencils, calligraphy pens, technical pens, and brush pens (all of those count as one!)
3. My computer
4. A pair of good running shoes
5. A cell phone

Can't think of a 6th... so I must not need it!
I spend a lot of time thinking about
...if Momma was right. If we each have a destiny, or if we're all just floating around accidental-like on a breeze. I think maybe it's both. Maybe both is happening at the same time. (told you I couldn't help it)

If nice guys always finish last... it seems to be very true so far. Or at least 2nd place, and a wise man once said "if you ain't first you're last!"
On a typical Friday night I am
I try to go out with friends and have fun as much as possible but if that doesn't happen you can typically find me catching up on some design work. It all depends on the week I had at work.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
That doing karaoke at a bar with friends might be my favorite thing ever. I know how to get the crowd into it.
I’m looking for
  • Girls who like guys
  • Ages 22–29
  • Near me
  • Who are single
  • For new friends, long-term dating, short-term dating
You should message me if
...you'd ever want to do what they did in the movie 'Yes Man' and go to the airport and purchase a ticket on the next plane boarding. It's a life goal of mine!

You should message me if you are open and willing to meeting new people. Finding friends on here is equally as important as finding a date.
