I am bald, geeky, and honest.
My Self-Summary
I have a stable, rewarding, job in management at a growing company.
I own a home, car and am fully capable of taking care of myself. I
have a healthy relationship with my parents. I am fond of pets,
though I don't have any now. Having grown up in
Iowa I understand what a day's work
means. Everything I have in life I have worked for, there were no
free rides. I have goals and a plan to get there. I am not looking
for a woman to complete me, I am looking for a woman to complement
me and me her.
What I’m doing with my life
I enjoy traveling to Canada,
Hawaii (just give me a reason, any
reason, even if it's a bad one), back to my midwestern home town
and would like to put together plans for Europe (Ireland, France,
Germany) and South East Asia. I lived in
Seattle for the past 10 years and loved
it there. I enjoy hanging out with friends for stimulating
conversation (double majored
Computer Science and
Philosophy in college),
card and board games, though unfortunately I am really rusty at
chess these days, so
we might have to settle for something a little lighter. I am a
voracious reader. I also do
Yoga about 3 times a week and have recently
started jogging, which is about as fun as I remembered it from high
school...
I am afraid life is too short to accomplish all I want. My bucket
list is a mile long and covers everything from learning to
Tango to figuring
out Symbolic Logic to playing the
Ukulele to visiting Antarctica and more!
Looking for someone to steal mischievous glances from across
crowded rooms. To share inside jokes with. To convince me, against
my better judgment, that what needs to happen right now is an
mangled rendition of "Wanted dead or alive" at a karaoke bar (good
luck with that one).
I’m really good at
I am good at being the decider when everyone else wants to do
"something", but no one actually has an idea of what to do or where
to go.
I'm good at telling really bad jokes. Just ask and I can regale you
with quite a few.
I'm really good at getting lost without my GPS unit (and sometimes
with, go figure).
I'm really good at sleeping in.
The first things people usually notice about me
I am bald. Genetics are a miserable thing sometimes. Also my
sarcastic sense of humor.
I can be horribly shy at times or extraordinarily extroverted at
others. I wish I could figure out what triggers either.
My favorite books, movies, music, and food
I am a fan of the arts, even opera and symphony, have a wide range
of musical tastes, from Bach to Jay-Z, and enjoy kicking around in
flip flops and drinking beer with friends. I am equally at home at
a formal awards banquet or a hole-in-the-wall greasy
spoon/bar/tavern/truck stop. I am truthful and loyal in a
relationship and ask for the same in return.
I am likely reading the Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy at any
given time. It is my go to book when I travel or am afraid I could
have a lot of extra time to burn.
The six things I could never do without
I really could live without an awful lot (hell, that's my
retirement plan!), so this is pretty tough.
1. Access to books
2. Access to music
3. The love of an awesome woman (while I can and have technically
lived without this one, it sucks)
4. Pineapples (especially fresh from the ground)
5. Parenthesis (I just love the little bastards)
6. Happiness
I spend a lot of time thinking about
The future. I'm a dreamer, always thinking of what is coming next,
where I want to be. I do a fair amount of thinking about the
present too, but usually in the context of where I want to be. For
example: Is my current strategy furthering my future goals.
I also spend a lot of time thinking about humanity. I am amazed
we've made it here, but see things that lead me to believe we might
not make it much further. I hope we do.
On a typical Friday night I am
Hanging out with friends having a BBQ, drinking some beers and
generally just hanging out. Maybe put a movie on the big screen.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit here
I work too much. Cellphones make it so that work contact is
possible 24x7, and supporting a network that needs to be up all the
time can interrupt life pretty dramatically.

You think my lack of style constitutes a style! ;)
