I am a retired statistician born in New York and educated at CCNY and Purdue. My ancestry is Chinese. However, as I do not like international travel, I've only been in China once. After getting a double masters in math and statistics from Purdue, I moved to the DC area and have been here ever since. I am an ex-marathon runner with seven marathons under my belt. I have several trophies from work. Much of my time is now spent on Jazzercise, dance, and volunteer church activities, work maintaining websites at the American Statistical Association, officers at HOA and the Northern Virginia Country-Western Dance Association.
On September 15, 2006, I was "born again." Consequently, some of my time is dedicated to that. I belong to a non-denominational mega-church, the McLean Bible Church, which serves in excess of 13,000 patrons. (They also have satellite campuses and broadcast over many stations and the internet.) One of their major attractions is their large singles ministry. Hundreds of single meet there by age group. It's a great place to meet, socialize, and study God's word. They've held numerous courses on building relationships and dating. There you learn what the opposite sex expect of you. I personally know several people who married as a result of these courses and meetings.
Another of my favorite activities is dance. I dance almost every day of the week. This includes, in order of preference: west coast swing, country line dancing, cha cha, hustle, night club two step, east coast swing, two step, rumba, waltz, merengue, tango, foxtrot, salsa, bachata, and Argentine tango among others. My ballroom style is American Social. I've created and now maintain a website of places for social dance in the Northern Virginia area with some sites in Maryland. I especially like dancing at Colvin Run, Lincolnia Senior Center, Lee Senior Center, and Herndon Senior Center. As an officer, I also dance at Northern Virginia Country Western Dance Association dances. I've made dance performances at flashmobs and on stage. Videos of these performances can be found on my "dancebill" channel of YouTube. (I started the channel with acts I saw at several Maryland Renaissance Festivals.)
I am basically shy when it comes to dating. I am very honest and expect complete honesty in a mate.
The lady I am seeking would be one interested in a lifetime marriage relationship. She must be either single, divorced, or widowed. Caucasian or Asian is preferred. You get extra points if you like dancing, you're thrifty, health conscious, and like the Maryland Renaissance Festival. Philanthropic would also be a plus.
