Lived in the city for 20 years - as a single parent my main focus
right now is my 11 year old son. He's the whole world to me, so
right now and probably forever, everything else takes 2nd place to
him. Otherwise, recently single from a long-term relationship that
was quite unpleasant, so pretty cautious about who I'm with now.
Not interested in flings, and definitely not interested in anyone
who expresses dishonesty. I like to stay active when possible - I
run marathons, I play golf (way too much probably), much more
prefer being outside than inside. Evenings I like quiet - spending
quality time with friends or family, or just reading a good book.
Also enjoy, believe it or not, cooking. Getting pretty good at it
(believe it or not).
Humour is important to me - life can't and shouldn't be lived too
seriously. I'm pretty sardonic and dry, which throws many people
for a loop - which is fine, I prefer being in the company of people
that appreciate and understan a satirist's philosophy :P
I consider myself reasonably well educated and versed, so being
with someone who can express themselves is important to me.
Otherwise, I'm pretty laid back and low maintenance :)
What I’m doing with my life
Corporate communications management. Shifting gears with my life,
my priorities are to be with friends and family, and to explore the
world and all it has to offer (when I have time ... which isn't
often). Currently looking at getting advanced degrees in
University, examining options there. Otherwise, just finding solid
ground with those around me to live out the rest of my life in
happiness. It shouldn't be that hard, but sometimes it's hard :)
I’m really good at
Talking. Listening. Caring for others. Good kisser - totally swear.
Alright cooker and cleaner (that sounds so domestic ... ugh).
Pretty good at whatever I do once I get the hang of it, whatever
that means :) ... I might even be a good romantic, just need a
chance with someone who's nice :)
The first things people usually notice about me
Hrmm. Good question. My eyes? I'm often complimented about that. My
incredible olympic-athletic physique? Okay, probably not that one.
I guess my eyes.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Prust, Hunter S. Thompson, Dickens, Wayne Johnston (Canadian), W.O.
Mitchell, Robert Caro, Oscar Wilde (when I'm feeling insufferable),
and poetry ... so much don't know where to start.
Movies. Blah. TV? Not interested. Music? Let me put it this way -
if it's country, not listening. Otherwise, bring it on.
The six things I could never do without
1) My boy.
2) The Sun.
6) Golf clubs.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
The meaning of life? That one always trips me up. Just wish I was a
little bit smarter and had it all figured out.
Mainly - living life well, being kind and generous to others. You
do that - you're happy. Pretty simple, no?
On a typical Friday night I am
Probably at home keeping my boy occupied, or if not that, having a
drink and relaxing. Company of friends is nice, although
infrequent. Damn time, just isn't enough of it.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I once killed a hobo. NO no no ... I didn't kill a hobo. I swear.
No really, I never did. Stop looking at me that way. I was just
joking, I swear. This is a silly question, I have so little private
things to admit, that I've little to say here. Except the hobo
thing, which I totally never did.
You should message me if
... YOU CAN HANDLE ME. I dunno, message me because I'm a
half-decently interesting guy, certainly kind, engaging ... I
suppose I'm not terribly bad looking either, which is a bonus?
Message me because ... why not? Okay, don't answer that question.
Just do it.
